The Bible isn't even a reason. People who believe it's some kind of sin simply should refrain from doing it themselves. They have no right to impose their beliefs on the rest of the country.

So no, no reason to legislate against 10% of the population.

I don't think there is any reason, except for our society is still narrow minded in regards to homosexuality. Even where the Bible is concerned, there is something like 3 or 4 verses admonishing homosexuality, but over 300 admonishing heterosexuality. There is a great book called "What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality"...something like that. I read it a few years ago, and I think I got the name right. It was authored by many professionals, including theologians. The book would really open some peoples views.

The Bible is not a legitimate reason to legislate against anyone.

We are all equal under the law, man or woman, heterosexual or homosexual. To discriminate against any single group, is to expose ourselves to the same injustice in the future. As Christians, we forget that we have a moral responsibility to protect the rights of every living being. No one should have the authority to enforce their version of the Bible because they have a distaste for a particular lifestyle. More importantly, to discriminate against another human being is to spread hatred, and that is certainly not true Christianity.

It is the homosexuals who are trying to LEGISLATE against the present definition of "marriage".

The reasons not to allow this to happen is that once the ancient, universal definition of marriage as being between man and woman is that once it's gone then anything can be argued to be marriage:

a person could marry their dog (there is such case ) or their siblings, or parents(to help them immigrate to this country), of to dozens of people (to avoid taxes) or myiads of confusing mixtures.

You, say "oh, no couldn't happen". People have said that about homosexuals trying to marry for many years.....yet here it is before us.

Well, whether or not you agree with me..

It is supposed to be a Man and a Woman. Heterosexuality is more natural.

Why? Because you need a sperm and an egg to create a baby. It's the way it is supposed to be. Also, a man and a man's body parts don't fit together (unless you stick it in the pooper) and a woman and a woman's body parts don't fit together.

SO if you use reproduction and human anatomy as a reason to legislate against homosexuality, then you have a firm solid good reason.

They aren't legitimate reasons, but their are non-religious groups with a stake here...namely the insurance companies.

Think about it. If homosexuals are allowed to have the same rights of marriage, insurance companies would have to treat them equally in terms of lower med. insurance rates (no more 2 single people, but a family). That's a substantial loss. Being one of the larger lobbying groups, their perfectly content to let this rage as a "moral" issue, rather than air their greed publicly.

No, I can't think of one. Basically every reason given has its roots in the bible.

1. Unnatural - 1000+ animal species practice homosexuality yet its unnatural
2. Offensive - matter of opinion
3. Disrespectful of marriage - biblical basis only; atheists get married too and they are not "of god"
4. Reproduction - so women who are sterile from cervical cancer or injuries should not get married; likewise men who are sterile...WHATEVER!

I personally don't care one way or the other about the ghays!

but what is making people mad, and ill is the fact that the ghays get ON TV rallying, kissing each other deep throat, making huge scenes.. and acting like a bunch of nuts!

I am heterosexual, and I do not feel the need to get on TV to announce it- nor do I feel I need to deep throat my spouse.
if you are Ghay, OK be it so.. but don't ram it down everybody throat!
people are sick of the ghays making a big stink over things- .... be ghay, happy, and keep your private life to yourselves!!!

God will be your judge.

I have never espoused legislation against homosexuals.

If a governmental unit wants to pass laws, it should pass the laws.
