The sad thing is that the media wants everybody to think this is what Christians are like, and she gave them great material for them to spit in the face of Jesus.
The problem is that I actually understand her concern. She doesn't want to compromise. Inspite of the fact that she is pretty messed up, and not exactly the intelligent type, her desire to not compromise her core beliefs is a good goal. Unfortunatelly, the media wants us Christians to be seen as intollerant, fanatical, psychos, while what we really need to be is loving people but firm and uncompromising in our core beliefs.
This is exactly what Hitler did... he made Jews look like evil people. Back then they did it with movies and posters, now they do it with "reality shows" and pseudoscience bullcrap and bad examples like this woman.
Christians are the new "evil" and we will be the target of the next holocaust.

She was a hoot the first time, but this time she's way more laid back. Looks like her new "hubby" is even more annoying than she is! Absolutely amazing, didn't think it could happen.
And yes, she made all christians look bad to the non-christians, just as terrorists make muslims look bad. There are a few loons in very group, and for some reason, they're the ones who get the publicity. I suppose they're just way more entertaining. She really was entertaining, this is the first time I've ever heard of having the same person on Trading Spouses.
As a christian I can honestly say I've never tried to convert anyone and never will. Our job was to spread the word, it's done, the entire world has heard the word. As far as I'm concerned you can't force anyone to believe anything they don't want to believe.
PS, just for the record people, some people can't help being obese, at least she did something about it,she's had tummy surgery, so give her a break on that. It's so petty to use her looks against her, she messes up enough with her personality, so you've got plenty amunition without insulting her looks.

I think the problem is that she wasn't many people's first exposure to evangelical insanity. She made good television because she matched many people's experience.
Many Christians are not patently psychotic, intolerant, and vituperative--but many are, and many in leadership positions are particularly bad in this way. Consider Pat "Who Would Jesus Assassinate?" Robertson, or Jerry "Feminists Are Responsible for 9/11" Falwell, or Ted "I'm Against Gay Marriage But For Meth and Sex with Male Prostitutes" Haggard, or many, many others. Swaggart? Angeley? Dobson? The Bakkers? Rick Santorum? It ain't just that show--the most egregious Christian psychopathy is on CBN, not "Trading Spouses"...

that poor woman! not only morbidly obese but whacked out on religion. i watched in a kind of fascinated horror, torn between pity and amusement. and those poor Pagan folks! they tried so hard to be kind to and accepting of her.
anyway ... yeah ... i guess most Christians aren't necessarily like that but the ones that are make the most noise so get the most attention. they're the ones that have their own TV churches and radio talk shows, commercialized pulpits from which they spew their hatred and bigotry. if i were a Christian nowadays i'd be embarrassed to admit it and would be organizing a campaign of kindness to counter the loud and obnoxious Fundy wackadoos.

Crazy is such a politically incorrect term. All Xians are delusional, and some are more extreme in their false beliefs than others, but ALL are delusional.
DELUSION:
1 : the act of deluding : the state of being deluded
2 a : something that is falsely or delusively believed or propagated b : a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the self or persons or objects outside the self that is maintained despite indisputable evidence to the contrary; also : the abnormal state marked by such beliefs

Well, she's a scary person. But I see she changed her hair and makeup since her first TV appearance.
You know what makes me wonder: if the body is supposed to be a temple, and was created to serve God-- why is she so grossly overweight? It's kind of like she's polluting her temple. So I look at her and think- how can you be screeching your head off about God if you're a big fat slob? I'm sorry, but she IS!
PS I'm not insulting her looks. All I'm saying is that for someone SOOOO devout and SOOOOOO keen on being right with God, she seems to be a hypocrite. She ATE her way, by choice, to that size. Because she wanted to. She INDULGED herself.

That woman ..... the wheel was turning but the hamster was dead.
Most Christians aren't like that. I think the problem was with the woman, not her religion. If she had been of another religion she still would have been crazy.

I'm pretty sure they know that. But I don't think most christians understand how pushy other christians are because they share beliefs. When you are outside a belief system, you tend understand more about how it appears to others.
