God does us thou shall not lie. But i can concieve of situations in which lying would be morally justified. Such as if i was hiding jews during WW2 and the nazi was asking me if i had hidden jews within my house do i tell the nazi the truth or do i lie? God clearly wants me to never lie but does that mean i should tell the truth and allow the nazi to kill the jews? Does this mean God is wrong? What about murder in self defence, God has said, thou shall not murder. God has not given any excuses for us when we can disobey these rules.

Am I not loved?

I'm not talking of touching wounds, but a guy in robes saying, "I'm real," would be appreciated.

Minus a few answers from loving people like Christine, Boppysgirl, and a couple others, have convinced me that Jesus has not helped you guys at all.

So many of you are so judgmental it just breaks my heart. I try to convince myself that a lot of Christians do try to be like Jesus, that they really get the message of the teachings, and that they are peaceful, spiritual, loving people.

But I was obviously wrong. Most of you are no more like Jesus than anyone else, perhaps even less so because of the pedestals you seem to have put yourselves on.

I hope you all learn to truly follow Jesus' teachings, until then, I will continue to have hope for you.

Are there any of you that care? Honestly?

"Let me try to make crystal clear what is established beyond reasonable doubt, and what needs further study, about evolution. Evolution as a process that has always gone on in the history of the earth can be doubted only by those who are ignorant of the evidence or are resistant to evidence, owing to emotional blocks or to plain bigotry. By contrast, the mechanisms that bring evolution about certainly need study and clarification. There are no alternatives to evolution as history that can withstand critical examination. Yet we are constantly learning new and important facts about evolutionary mechanisms."

was a prositute? does the bible every state that?

The Bible never explicitly says that Mary Magdalene was ever a prostitute at any point in her life. Luke does not name her in his narrative about the "penitent whore" who washes the feet of Jesus with her hair (7:36-50). Nor is she named as the woman who was caught in the act of adultery and saved from being stoned to death by Jesus (John 8:1-11). She is identified as once having been demon-possessed (Luke 8:2). However, the assumption that her sinful past consisted primarily of sexual sin is a presumption that is not usually made about the men who are identified as former sinners

Why do we believe the Torah was given by G-d?
by Mrs. Sarah Levi

We know that the Torah was given by G-d via historical fact, just like we know that George Washington, Christopher Columbus, Charlemagne, or Plato lived because of the existing historical evidence. The fact is that the Torah was given in front of approximately 3,000,000 eyewitnesses who transmitted their experience to their children and so on down through the ages.

There is additional reasoning behind our belief in the Torah's divinity. Taking as a given that there is a reasoning Creator Who is the architect of the world (see How do we know G-d created the world?), would it not seem imperative that this Creator would reveal His will to humanity, the single greatest component of creation? Once we believe that the Torah is divine, we must also understand that the entire Torah is divine. This means that picking and choosing which parts of the Torah to follow is unreasonable, and that mankind has not the moral authority to negate even one letter of the Torah.

My god son's mother can be quite a trip sometimes. There have been several occasions where she has asked me for financial assistance to help her with rent, cell phone bills and money to buy food to feed herself and my god son. I always give whenever she asks because I have been blessed with extra and don't have a problem with helping out a single mother in need.
There have been more then a few instances where she has been downright mean and nasty towards me. Just last night she was yelling and screaming at me on the phone because I called and asked her why she hadn't paid me back the money she claimed that she would be repaying on the 18th of January.
I don't mind helping someone out, but I don't like being disrespected either. I also don't like being taken advantage of. Like I said she has been very rude to me on more then one occasion and I feel that she is taking my kindness for weakness. Would I be unchristian like to not assist her anymore? Advice please?

It seems I've seen alot of people hang on to the mormon religion, even after they are convinced that the doctrines are wrong. They do so for family peace, politics, not wanting to rock the boat or whatever. Are any of you in this situation? Is their anyone who goes to church and "pretends" to be a good mormon, though your heart isn't in it?

If God can't then he/she is not really omnipitent and not really that Godlike. If he/she can, and does, and interracts with our lives, doesn't that invalidate free will as whatever we do today could be undone yesterday ?

What would be wrong with a 'Hedonistic Union’? A society that lives by the moral and principle to only work at causing the society as whole to experience the heights of bliss. What would be wrong with a society that avoids pain, and pursues pleasure?

If God created Heaven.. did he create Hell? Are there any references regarding these two "places" in the Dead Sea Scrolls? If man is destined to die, that means everyone sins, correct? Well, Jesus died.. what was his misdeed? If one walks with the devil (if I do say so myself), is he eligible to turn back around and have his name in The Lamb's Book Of Life? And where is Heaven? ..What is salvation? What is truth? History tells us Jesus is Truth. Okay, that's good notation but what do we do with it? Especially when Dan Brown's making a fortune on enigmatic legends. Especially.. when it all depends on YOUR.. faith? What am I supposed to believe?

Isn't there something else that could be done with the money spent on such lavish churches that would be more helpful to people? Isn't that what religion is all about, helping people who can't help themselves? Couldn't "God" be worshipped just as well in more meager settings?
