Before the Holocaust there were innumerable pogroms in the Russia and Eastern Europe. All the hatred and animosity against the Jews can be traced back to the glorification of Christ by his followers. Is this what God expected to happen? Or if as the Bible mentions you know the tree by its fruits. Christianity gave Hitler its justification for the Final Solution one if not the greatest crime against humanity ever perpetrated. Pope John Paul II apologized to the Jews for the pasivity (or complicity) of christians while the Holocaust took place. The fruits of Christianity are dubious to say the least if not evil.

I have a Shia friend (female) who would like to get married to a Sunni (male) but are having troubles agreeing to a lawful way of Nikah abiding to their differences of beliefs in Islam...the list goes on. Could you share your opinions on this? Both families are arguing as to how and where the marraige should take place, under whose "rules"?If anyone has appropriate links to read upon around this subject that would be helpful as well.

Please, no Bible quotes, as the Bible is irrelevent to me.

The earth is overpopulated. We have plenty of available land, but our resources are dwindling; temperatures are rising; the weather is getting more tempermental; our air quality is declining both to the exponential increase of pollution and the exponential destruction of forests.

With such cases in mind, is it worth it to produce offspring just because, according to some book, you are told to do so?

Not just the view from one specific Muslim or Hindu, but the view on cloning of the religion as a whole.

We know Jesus appeared to certain people. BUY, why didn't He appear to the religious leaders who had Him killed, and to Pilate and all the Romans. There might have been many, many people who would have become saved. Why do you think this was avoided?

I'm trying to find out if Cardinal birds have any great meaning. I know Native American's thought that certain type of birds carry different messages or meanings. I had an experience with several of them.

Jesus told us exactly how to love each other.

He told us, "Forgive others for their mistakes." Then he warned us. But no Bubba Preacher would ever give a sermon on Jesus' warning. Because if he did, he would lose his congregaton;

And just what was that warning? And it was also an insistence of real love, real compassion, real Christianity.

Jesus specifically said, "If you do not forgive others, your father in Heaven will not forgive you".

How can anyone expect to go to Heaven if God has not forgiven them?

Jesus' words not mine.

Conclusion: Anyone who holds a grudge, is not a harmony-loving person, Anyone who holds a grudge against anyone, has no hope of Heaven. No matter what Paul,or Peter, or Bubba preachers say.

Okay, in my humble opinion, the idea is simple. Someone else has chosen to believe in the story of a kind and loving God. I've decided not to. Now, this person goes all out telling me I'm so ignorant, and that I'm going to burn in Hell, and that I need to repent for my sins. What did I do to deserve that? I've respected your choice and I'm more than willing to allow you to practice your religion (and any other religion for that matter). Why can't you understand my choice too? You keep throwing quotations at me from that same story, saying it is the absolute truth. But the whole point is that I don't believe that story! Why do Christians always believe they have the one single truth in their hands? Basically, an Atheïst is someone who doesn't assume anything is true before it is proven. Why is that wrong?

Or, to sum up in a comprehensible question:

Why is the response of some Christians to atheïsts so intolerant?

Some may refer to some religious command to "replenish", but I think authorities agree that the planet houses too many humans as it is. I would imagine that God considers it a sin to recklessly overpopulate...what do you think?

You hear of people experiencing Near Death Experiences and seeing family & friends and a light at the end of a tunnel thinking its the gateway to Heaven. Have you ever heard of people who experienced just the opposite, heading towards flames, sensing it was Hell and fighting to avoid it & returning to present day life because they didn't belong there? You never hear about that, but its true from what I've heard by people who experienced it. They experienced horror. Why do some people experience "the light" while others, "the horror" of it all? Why do people fight and/or want to come back to life instead of wanting to stay at either place?

Astrologers from the East? Three of them? Called Wisemen? Not wise men, but Wisemen? Bringing herbal balms, incense and precious stones? Tracking an omen star over great distances? And what's this I hear about gifts from the Magi?

Please, I don't mean to offend, but the literature around them that I can find varies from opinion to opinion. No one seems to know for sure exactly who they were, but the prevailing belief seems to be that they were Zoroastrian. Nevertheless, the similarities are downright staggering.

Hey didn't they bend knee to Jesus?

In my interpretation of Genesis 11:6, God was afraid of mankind and hated our ability to do anything we set our minds to. In response he scattered people all over the world and made them speak different languages. Then, in Revelations, it's the Antichrist that unites mankind.

Why is the unification of mankind seen as evil?

Are you athiest because you truly believe in only science, or were you just disillusioned/appalled/disgusted by the actions of some so-called "holy" people and their religions? I ask this because when I'm reading anything about atheists, I always find a common theme in their story...they (or someone they knew or cared about) suffered an unjust tragedy and wondered how an all-powerful God could let it happen. Or, they just cant stand how hypocritical many religious people can be. Some friends of mine are atheist and they always mention church corruption and scandals as a major turn-off to organized religion, but I never get a clear answer as to why they think there is no God. I am not a 'born again' or anything like that. I haven't had any visions or revelations. I suffered a sudden death of a very loved family member at a young age...my parents are divorced, etc. etc. While I have been angry at whatever God may be for getting a raw deal at times, deep down I don't think I've seriously doubted God's existence as to denounce him/her/it completely. I think God's message has been distorted by many to fit their own agendas. I believe in science, I believe in the Big Bang and evolution...but I also believe in cause and effect, which is one the underlying principles of the universe, and based on that I simply cannot accept as logical that there wasn't something that either wrote the code or set the wheels in motion. I think the problem is that man has tried to personify something that cannot be personified, and I think we make the mistake of always assuming everything should always be 'fair.' As you know, everything in nature has to have balance...this includes both good and bad events. if it was one way or the other all the time, nature would not have balance, and it would be chaos. Anyway, I don't think God is a superstitious "invisible man living in the sky" as Carlin puts it...but I do believe that God just is. That's my take...I'm not trying to convert anyone or change anyone's mind, but I've wanted to ask this for a long time. What REALLY made you lose all faith completely, and more importantly, would would it take to ever get it back?

A Christian parent wrote "Why would any parent willingly NOT teach their child to love the God of the bible? That would be the equivalent of someone not teaching their children to run in the street until the actually get run over."

I understand. But what about when the parents beliefs are wrong? When is it RIGHT to protect children from parents' harmful beliefs?
