The Bible makes all sorts of very bold statements like God created the world in 7 days, he later destroyed everyone on earth but Noah's family, that one day he will destroy the world by fire. After these staggering claims why do people try and discount the word by saying "It is written by men"! If he can make a virgin preggers surely he can get someone to take notes and get it right! If you said you've reviewed the evidence and decided you don't believe in God that is one thing, but isn't it ridiculous to say you believe in God (read omnipotent power) yet doubt he can control the content of the Bible?

Christianity has HUNDREDS of sects and denominations, some very conservative, some middle-of-the-road, others very liberal. Christianity is far from monolithicm, but many sects and denominations do not recognize the others as being "true Christians."

Islam has Ahmadiyya, Shi'a, Sufi, Sunni. Islam is far from monolithicm, but the various sects often do not recognize the others as being "true Muslims." However, within each sect they allow for a variety of theological viewpoints.

Does either Christianity or Islam have broader internal theological diversity than the other? Please explain your answer.

christians say that in order to enjoy salvation you just have to "open your heart and accept jesus as your saviour"...is that all?
What kind of "sacrifices" must a christian do for his/her god?
Muslims, Jews, Sintoists have a behaviour code that can be quite strict but christians only have to "open their hearts and read the bible" wow! what a sacrifice!!!!

If we evolved from a common ancestor, and all the way back to a single bacteria, then what started of this chain of evolution. How did this one atom form to start the process of evolution. Where did it come from?

I'm basically asking what was the very beginning?

For centuries one race was singled out for persecution by a church.
Hitler did not force anyone to serve in concentration camps there were plenty "decent" average people volunteering. Why was that? What had prepared that culture to breed so many monsters if not the constant mischivious litany and reminding that Jews had like pigs unable to appreciate the glory of Christ rejected Jesus teachings and demanded his execution?

I choose to believe Christ as the Truth and Light of the world. Have you questioned, how has western Christanity changed from eastern Chritanity? Seems that western Christanity has "evolved" into something maybe, convenient? It has been enveloped by politics and twisted into something so different than its birth. Do you feel Christ's will is the evolution in America's Christanity, thoughts?

Actually, as a former law student who went to a good law school, my experience is that most law students are pretty sharp & open minded people...not given to political correctness...however this supposed "law student" is changing my mind:

In response to my question about whether "Islam could be the cause of Islamic terror" --

Blackacre "By your reasoning, but for Christianity, there would have been no IRA, genocide of Native Americans, or instability in the English throne for several hundred years. Really, dude... you think Islam is the root of the terrorism? And the schism between Presbyterianism and Anglicanism is the root of the American Revolution? I hate to break it to you, but there are other reasons for terrorism in the world today. Think politics...

The current official statement of what Humanism means is Humanist Manifesto 3 (2003), subtitled "Humanism and Its Aspirations". It doesn't mention any gods. It doesn't mention atheism. So why do some people get their knickers in a knot over this question? Isn't Humanism - by definition - about what is human, not what is alleged to be divine or supernatural? You can read Humanist Manifesto 3 at or and see for yourself what Humanism actually stands for.

If knowledge is power and God is omnipotent (knows everything) that makes God all powerful.
But God cast out Satan for wanting to be like Him.

If a person seeks knowledge, aren't they trying to be like God? Even if one says they seek knowledge to better themselves; to what extent? Isn't the goal of seeking knowledge complete understanding - ie. omnipotence?

So if wanting to be like God is sinful, then basically the Bible is telling christians not to seek knowledge right? Because you aren't supposed to want to be God.

I guess this would give reason to christians rejecting science. Maybe they just don't want to be like satan.

You cannot have God without Satan, and Satan without God. So if one does not believe in God, there is no Satan and vice versa.
