christians say that in order to enjoy salvation you just have to "open your heart and accept jesus as your saviour"...is that all?
What kind of "sacrifices" must a christian do for his/her god?
Muslims, Jews, Sintoists have a behaviour code that can be quite strict but christians only have to "open their hearts and read the bible" wow! what a sacrifice!!!!

Until you ask them what constitutes "Opening your heart and accepting Jesus as your savior. Then they slam you with eight million Bible passages full of rules and regulations that make Shinto look like a cakewalk.
Give me a break. That's like saying a car is simpler than walking because walking involves maintaining your balance, having healthy legs, putting one foot in front of the other, and watching out for obstacles, when a car only requires you to drive it.

The Christian religion is not "undemanding." God and Christ have some very high standards to be met. “Present-day Christianity . . . has lower standards for church membership than those for getting on a bus,” said one observer.
Clearly, he was describing those professed Christians that you have in mind. Do not measure true Christianity as practiced by the first-century Christians with the so-called christianity that you see daily. Those who say but do not do. Those who do not even know.
That God requires sacrifice is plainly seen from a consideration of Romans 12:1-2.

Jesus said, "Take up your cross and follow me."
Being a Christ-follower means you are slaves to God.
No your right not much sacrifice.
You come from a Christian family with no theological depth it sounds like. I dont' mean to put your family down. But Christians are constantly challeneged to deepen their faith. We are to become more and more life Christ. And for anyone that takes a lot of sacrifice. Just as much as anyother "behavioral code."

Well, you're very right. there is nothing a Christian has to do.
However, you are incorrect about having an open mind and read the bible. These are not requirements.
All you need is faith. That's it. Nothing else. You don't have to do a thing.
a sacrifice, no... not for me.

That's a pretty general statement wouldn't you say? Christianity is made up of many religions, some 'demanding' and some 'undemanding'. Not all Christians believe what you wrote in your question. For example, I would say that Mormonism is a pretty demanding Christian religion.

Giving yourself to Jesus to be your Lord and Savior is not easy. You have to admit that you are nothing without God, and you have to make God's will into your will. There's a lot more to salvation that saying you're up for it. God wants you mind, body, and soul.
The source for a lot of the confusion about Christianity is that Christians believe that no matter how good a person is, we are not worthy of salvation on our own. We are all sinners, and as such, aren't worthy of God's love. It's God's love for us that he offers us salvation. But to get it, you have to believe in him mind, body, and soul.

Try hiding your nakedness so that we don't get sick, and we will stick around long enough to give a more detailed answer.
If you don't think that the Christian God is demanding, then try reading John 14:24 and 1 Cor. 6:9-11.

Not exactly. The purpose of Christianity is to follow Jesus and be as Christ like as we can. Jesus will forgive you of your sins if you are truly sorry. Also, there comes a responsibility to change your ways and sin no more. For example, Jesus forgave Mary Magdalene who was a prostitute because she asked for forgiveness and turned away from prostitution. So there is not only seeking of forgiveness, but also changing so that the same grave sins are not done anymore.

Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice. We are supposed to try to follow in Jesus' footsteps. God is a loving God. He makes it easy to get in. Before Jesus, they had to sacrifice animals. I guess you can say that a christian has to sacrifice their pride. They are also killed everyday for preaching the word.

It really is a sad set of beliefs. It encourages moral cowardice by not having people take responsibility for their actions. More over it also promotes mediocrity with encouraging people to put all their stock in heaven rather then working hard and living today.
