This question is for current and former meditators who have been actively involved in the Vipassana movement in their country. I am interested in 'any' opinions/ experiences you have/ have had....negative or positive in regards to this movement? What do you think of this organisation and the theory taught?

Jack Kornfield is one of the founders. Jack Kornfield studied under Ajahn Chah in the Thai Forest tradition. I'm a convert to the Thai Forest tradition.

I have no direct involvement with Vipassana, but with Kornfield as a founder I suspect that theory is not very important. What is important is practice.

I hope this helps.

As a Tibetan Buddhist who knows a few Vipassana meditators, and has practiced some insight meditation myself... it works, but then that goes w/o saying because everything the Buddha taught works. _()_
