Logically you have no soul and there's no life after death, so what is the reason for rationalizing?
What would be wrong with a 'Hedonistic Union’? A society that lives by the moral and principle to only work at causing the society as whole to experience the heights of bliss. What would be wrong with a society that avoids pain, and pursues pleasure?

Desiree J: Well, working together at reaching an omega point of a higher state of blissful living. Nazis wasn't looking for a 'good time' neither is Islam. Hippies on te other hand were. Basically the progress will be in the line of creating and managing the 'science of pleasure'. It is still not easy, but there is ways to experience pleasure without pain.

Absolutely nothing, aside from the fact that humans are not perfect.
If we were all to pursue not only our own, but also everybody else's happiness, we'd try to do something against human nature. Humans derive pleasure from the fact that someone else is lesser or worse off than they are. Therefore there would always have to be someone suffering, and there would always have to be a leader group.
And then again, how do you combine long-term investments with instant pleasure? For example, being able to use cars for transportation is pleasure now, but not having gas left to do so in the future is a major disadvantage. What is the best morality and what is the ultimate pleasure?
I'm convinced religion is not the answer, but I can understand that this sets certain guidelines for some people. Theoretically, there's nothing wrong with that, as long as they're willing to give other religions and atheïsts the same room as they would want. But some group has to be lesser, so that is impossible.
Basically, it's an impossible society unless people are made into drones. But 1984 is not so nice either.

nothing wrong with trying to avoid pain while trying to get pleasure. I have noticed in trying to pursue pleasure the end results is pain. W e need a guide for living life and it seems the new testament of the bible gives us a rationale way to live life. Where life is worth living and pleasure takes on a deeper meaning.

Because the ultimate task for any sentient species is to continue to strive towards an omega point. A hedonistic society will cease to progress. Religion, on the other hand, an opposite to hedonism, also opposes progression. Behold the gray area in which we humans exist.
A product of this gray area is extreme behavior like the Nazis, Muslims, Fred Phelps etc

"When a man has taken a bath from a unique pool of water and says it was a unique experience for him, how can any other say “no you cannot have such unique experiences”" how was it a unique experience? just because the pool was shaped different? or what? i've been in pools of water. not that special. "Similarly, if a man says “I am in contact with the Creator God !” with a genuine feeling that he or she has, how can any other one say “No, no, you cannot have such an experience ?”" I'd more likely tell him to take his meds or else have him tell one of the Hindus who say the same thing about Krishna.

Logically speaking, what "pleasure" is ever inherently pleasurable and never brings suffering? When you can prove that pleasure is permanently and inherently pleasureable, I'll eat my s/o's Security Forces beret... WITHOUT salt.

Is killing 6 million Jews 'the height of bliss"? This last century has shown us example after example of atheism and hedonism at work, and it has brought us nothing but hell.
Your "pursuit of pleasure" is always at the expense of someone else. Therefore, by your pleasure, you are causing someone else pain.

That would be lovely. But people enjoy hate and belligerence. So I doubt it would work.
