People haven't read the Bible. The Church depends on that!

How can people constantly bash the bible when they can't prove that it's all lies?

How come people can't accept the bible as an interpretation of past events?

Did you know that the story of Noah's Ark has a counterpart Romanian Story?

In the Romanian story Noah and his wife are animal traders who actually live on their arc. One day they went to a town and sold some of their animals, and when they were getting ready to leave a storm came. SO they took back all their animals back on the boat and floated away. (It goes something like that, this is just short hand.)

I believe that the story is BASED on reality to teach something. What you learn is up to you. You can choose to bash it, but that makes you no better then the people who bash the qu'ran and other religious scriptures.

Grow up and get a life.

I wonder if I could direct your attention to "Why We Believe What We Believe," by Andrew Newberg. This fascinating book examines the neurobiology of belief in a very clear way, and explains a great deal of the mechanisms of belief.

Since having read it, I have been much more able to treat other people's beliefs as their business, and not feel compelled to call them "liars" or "idiots" or things like that.

It has helped me to understand that even my beliefs, which I regard as very rational and grounded in the clearest thinking, may be completely bats.

Give it a read, it might make you a bit calmer when confronted with beliefs that puzzle you.

What makes you think, there are lies on every page? Maybe the reason ,you see lies is becasue you believe they are. But how many of them are truthful. If there are lies on every page, then there must also be some truth in the pages.

Perhaps those 'things' the asker alludes to are not contradictions(lies) but different ways of looking at the same thing. (Yes, I have scriptural 'problems' with the assertions some 'Christians' make on Yahoo presently too).

It is spiritual discernment that enables believers to see the truth and those with no value in truth to continue to believe a lie.

that is what religion is. if u really think about it u need to belive in something, people want to belive in the bible, it is just something that they need. people need something the do and believe in, need something to fallow, need to know that they will be taken care off, and need to know that there is something after death.
