Religion & Spirituality - 21 January 2007

This question is not meant to attack your religion but instead so that I can learn perspectives of more intelligent minds.

I believe it is a shared view that in order to logically say that God exists you must say all of the bible is either metaphorically or literally true.

I assume you are aware of the alleged biblical contradictions and immoral commands by God (if not PLEASE do not respond).

It has been said that these passages are not relevant todays time; yet I never hear it said how you can tell when it is not relevant (such as the debate concerning quotes about homosexuals) or why such barbaric ideas would ever be practiced.

As a Christian how do you interpret this passages. Please respond intelligently and with details, my browser has crashed 6 times and I have had to retype it each time.

The bible says to "love one another",
1 John 4: 7,8 says "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God: and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love."

Considering that prophecies are usually fortold, then they are expected to happen and all the details are already known to whomever prophecized them in the first place so warning us of anything seems somewhat futile or ironic in a sense. If we cannot change them why would you want to know about them. Curious thought.

If anything they were more susceptible to skin cancer because they lacked melanin that darker races have plenty of. Hair is only blond, eyes are only blue because of melanin deficiency.

I've been given 4 "thumbs down's" for an answer I gave about Evolution being started by a divine source. Can it be possible for something to come from nothing? Did the beginning point evolve from nothing or what started the beginning point? Evolutionists's believe we evolved from some beginning point. The Big Bang theory goes back to gas and molecules, cosmic dust. Who created the dust? Who created a divine source? Neither question can be factually definitively answered by a living human. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Who created God if God does exist...If all a big bang beginning, who or what started the beginning point from zero?

I am in a very, very, very messy situation romantically, that is starting to look HOPELESS. Not 100%, but about 95%. I need something close to a miracle.

I don't really practice any specific religion, although I believe deeply in God. What prayer can I say for help?? A prayer of surrender, or a prayer for the outcome I want? Please tell me a specific prayer if you have one...

im scared i might scare my jewish girlfriend with my uncut penis. Should i tell her ahead of time that i was never circumsized? We been dating for 3 months and the time has come to do you know what. But the problem is im scared she will hate me for not being cut down there. I though about getting it cut but its very expensive and extremely painful and i cannot have sex with her for atleast a month and i dont think she will that long. I personally think its some end time stuff about to go down!! Like the mark of the beast-- Gods people wont be able to buy or sell unless they accept the Mark of the beast!!!! I think the stage is being set up for the final tribulation!! Jesus is coming sooner than we think!!!!!!!!!!! In our lifetime!!!!!!!!!

In addition to this.. The stage is being set up for a Sunday law!! Europe is officially changing calendar from Sunday thru Saturday to Monday thru Sunday!!!! The bible Sabbath falls on our Saturday-- the little horn will think to change the times and the laws-- We ought ot obey God rather than men.. The Sabbath is the sign of Gods Creatorship NOT the day of worship to the pagan sun god!! (ever wonder why its called Sun- day? ) Ever wonder why christians worship on the first day instead of the 7th like God commanded?? go to this site!! Gods command never changed!!

I've posted relatively benign satirical questions (such as 'what other furniture, besides wicca chairs, do wiccans make' and 'besides pie allah mode, what is your favorite muslim dish' and 'do you love jesus (and his brothers, pedro and jose)') and I've received violation notices along with email from fundies. I've questioned people who claim to be witches and mediums and they get INCREDIBLY angry, just like the fundamentalist christians and muslims do. Even some of my atheistic friends are extremely sensitive when I question their dogma. What's the dynamic here?
