No. Faith PROVIDES hope. Hebrews 11:1 defines it by saying that "faith is the assured expectation of things HOPED for... the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld."
I hope that helps you. :-)

No. Faith refers to a powerful feeling of believing. Hope is a longing or a yearning. Faith is belief and hope is a desire. Look at the difference between the two words belief and desire- hopefully this best illustrates the difference between the words "faith" and "hope".

Hope-the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best: to give up hope.
Faith-confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.

The characters of faith must be present to even begin to understand the things of God. Blessed is he who believes without seeing. Faith is a grace from God given to those who seek Him. Hope is in the fulfilment of His promises

Methinks "Hope" is just clinging on to something, thinking something will happen someday. But "Faith" is something so strong nobody can take it from you. Nobody can make you deny it with whatever they say or do. Nobody can shake it, or make you feel embarrassed about it. Because YOU KNOW. And Faith is your proof. Fore without it, man is just walking in the dark.

Faith is believing in what is not seen and hope is holding on to that faith.
