A super volcano eruption could wipe out life on this planet. Anyone know where one is and the last time it erupted? Does scripture give a scenario of how the world will end according to fundamentalism. What New Testament chapter & verse gives this, anyone know?

I've wondered for awhile why all the major religions are male-centric, with a male heirarchy and females relegated to a secondary role. (if that) Of course, if guys run the thing *of course* they're going to put themselves at the top of the totem pole. ('Honey, it's not ME, it's God that thinks I'm superior') The response every time someone thinks they see the Virgin Mary in a stain on the sidewalk or a knothole in a tree suggests there is a strong, though sublimated desire for a spirituality that honors the female principle as well. Look at all the suffering and bloodshed religions have wrought over the millenia. I think we ought to give the femmes a shot and I wouldn't be surprised if something emerged in the coming decade or so. Whaddaya think?

christians reckon the misinterpretation of the Bible is the blame for contradictions, why didn't almight God uses his almight power to ensure the accuracy of the Bible? why go around and around for so many 'misunderstanding'??

so.

i've known that there are a ton of stupid people in the world.

reading some of these questions and answers disgusts me. i mean, that somebody could be so ignorant in a day and age filled with so much information out there...it terrifies me.

the atheists, evolutionists, and other -ists all come off sounding much smarter.

but then i think: maybe the people who are the happiest are the smartest.

if atheism makes you happy: ca-ching. money in the bank. you're golden. if religion makes you happy: ditto.

my personal view is that EVERYONE will ALWAYS have differing personal views. that's the way it's always been, and when i think of people who try to change that fact, i think of people like hitler.

and i also believe that people should just try to find their own personal happiness, unless of course that involves hurting someone.

call me an idealist. too romantic. whatever. but wouldn't the world would be such a beautiful place?

I would like to hear from the people of different religions, faiths and philosophies. Is God One?. Ever wondered why He comes every 500 years. 500 BC-> Budha. 0-> Jesus, 500->Mohammed, 1000- ?, 1500-> Nanak, 2000->?
If we compare His teachings, they are lots of common denominators....help poor, charity. kindness, forgiveness, pray. Still most of us forget that and fight about the things that He would never care about.

Isn't this the biggest puzzle that the human kind need to solve?.

Why is it as a muslim american I am bombarded with people speaking about my religion as if they know. I live in Chicago with one of the largest muslim populations in the US. I wear hijab and you would not believe how many nonmuslims come up to me an talk about islam like there some kind of expert just because theyve watched a 5min soundbit on the news.
I thought that this country was for freedom of expression? If thats true then why are they so agianst me following my faith? My friends tell me that its because they have never had someone come up to them and tell them they suddenty couldnt be christian or whatever faith they are? To me it just seem so hipocritcal!!!

the fact that the 3 major religions share prophets and almost identical veiw of creation through adam and eve. Two say that God is one, one says he has a son. Two believe in in jesus as prophet, one believes he's God's son. Two don't believe that muhammad is last prophet, one does. But for the most part they are all similar. Doesn't this make you think that probably one is correct?

judaism is the only religion accepted by christianity. but it is soooo different. honestly i dont get it at all. there is too much envolved. Plus do you make sure to follow all 300 laws so that you have a clear path to heaven??? to me jewish stuff seems harder and harder to follow as the years pass.
