Well, from many accounts he did not believe her at first. When Mary told him he was afraid to take Mary as a wife. He was also afraid that the community would stone her for adultery. An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, and told him: Fear not, Joseph.
The child that Mary is carrying is conceived by the Holy Spirit, He is the Son of the Most High. So Joseph accepted the word of the angel and took Mary into his home as his wife. Shortly thereafter, they had to leave for Bethlehem of Judea for the census of Caesar Augustus. Bethelem is the town of David, from the lineage of both Mary and Joseph. The heavenly host chorused in the heavens at the birth of Jesus, and how this must have resonated within his heart at the beauty of both Mother and Child.

Joseph had a special fatherhood with Jesus and according to Tradition is the Steward of God's Household in Heaven.

The Church says that Mary is a perpetual virgin. The teachings say that James and Jude are cousins, they were brothers in the extended family sense. I believe that the Church teaches about Mary's perpetual virginity because of the unique role that Mary plays as the Virgin of Grace. Grace is Divine Life with Christ, and Mary is believed to have a role in heaven as a the one who dispenses graces through her heart, which is most pure and virginally in tact. It is this grace that buffers the soul and brings us
life with Christ that leads to eternal life.

The pathway to grace is through prayer. And so we say the words that the angel Gabriel said to Mary: Hail Mary! full of grace, the Lord is with Thee. We read in the Book of Revelations that John saw Mary this way:

12:1. And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

If you would go to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe you would see the cloak of St. Juan Diego with the picture of Mary as the Woman Clothed with the Sun that was miraculously put there over 500 years ago, and is still in tact.

Be careful of what you say because of what St. Jude says in his letter in the Bible: Take care that you do not act as these other men do and insult the heavenly beings, about which they have no understanding.

All of the Apostles and the Holy Mother were present at the Pentecost.

Matthew 1:19-20.......However, Joseph her husband, because he was righteous and did not want to make her a public spectacle, intended to divorce her secretly.  But after he had thought these things over, look! Jehovah’s angel appeared to him in a dream, saying: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife home, for that which has been begotten in her is by holy spirit.

Gabriel told him his wife had not been with a man.
God had blessed her with a child without a man's sperm.

Joseph and Mary had other kids after Jesus was born.

Two of them wrote letters that are in the NT.
James was written by a half-brother of Jesus.
Jude was written by a half-brother of Jesus.

Joseph accepted that he wasn't Jesus's father because God sent an angel down in a dream to him and confirmed it - but to go ahead and marry Mary. (according to my Bible, various Christian TV programs, and my church). Read Matthew 2: 7-24.

He didn't accept it very well at first and decided to not marry Mary. Then and angel appeared to him and explained the deal and the rest is history.

He was visited by one of God's biggest Angels, Gabriel. Gabriel told him the child was God's Son, and not to hold it against Mary. She never cheated. Joseph knew the truth when heard it and accepted the child "as his" by marrying her.
