In msot states, evolution is taught while creationism is tossed out. SOme hick states don't... that's there problem. If they want to be close minded, to bad.
The problem with creationism in schools is not whenther the majority or minority believe it's true, it's that there are plenty of people who will go through the public school system that are religiously posed to creationism, as the theory centers around the God of Christianity and Judaism, but not, say, Islam or Agnostics. Atheists would be going against all their morals and beliefs to learn that God created the Earth. It doesn't matter if 95% of the country believed in creationism, those 5% have a right not to have to learn it. I guess evolution does the same for Christians and Jews (theoretically, but I have no trouble believing that evolution and creationism can go hand in hand), so I guess until it is cememnt as definite fact, evolution can't be taught either.
So yeah... radicals suck... and while creationism shouldn't be taught, there is a legit argument to say evolution shouldn't either... no matter how blatantly obvious it is that evoltion is correct.

You are giving both ideas equal credence and that is a mistake. Evidence supports evolution and there is ABSOLUTELY NO evidence for creationism.
It is like asking why the flat earth theory is not taught in school along with the round earth theory........BECAUSE IT IS FALSE. It is not a matter of belief, it is a matter of evidence. Teaching a false doctrine is dangerous and counter productive to our development as a species.
I know you ask if we shouldn't follow the will of the democracy but that is dangerous as well. What if the majority believed that we needed to put certain Americans in camps? Humans are just as capable of making bad choices en masse as we are of mucking it up individually.

You're making an assumption first of all, that more people want evolution taught in schools....
Secondly, your question about democracy - who's fighting it and why?

Way more people would have creationism taught and would toss out evolutionism all together that's why the minority fight democracy.

Hmm, well at least not in my state.
But a Democracy protects the rights of the minority against having the (for example) majority religion shoved on them, so that would take a supermajority.

Last I checked, the year is 2007. Are people really calling evolution a 'theory'? That is upsurd. Evolutionary biology is a fact.

The problem is that the Christians of years ago dropped the ball. They allowed special lobby groups to get their two cents worth in and created this mountain we have now. If we were to go to any other country and pull the crap that is pulled on us we would be killed . Not here we in courage us. We were built on Christian values and now they are in the crapper. YEAH America way to go .

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner. Liberty is the lamb busting out a gun and contesting the decision.
