very derogatory terms. So why do you have questions about us or why do your ministers preach against us? I am 60 yrs old & have never even once heard a priest or nun say anything about any other religion. So why do you?

Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Protestants, Baptists - what is the difference among these religions? Is it a difference just in practices, or theories, or both?

I have been told by my church that masturbation is a sin and that I should not do it. However, my friend told me that masturbation is not mentioned in the bible and that the actual act of masturbation itself is not sinful, just the stuff you think about. Basically, while masturbating you cannot have lustful thoughts as lust is a sin. To lust is to have sexual desire. See http://www.wolfeborobible.com/selfpleasure.html

Lust is also one of the Seven Deadly Sins. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_deadly_sins

My friend told me that masturbation as okay if I don't lust. But how is it possible to masturbate without lusting? How is it possible to masturbate without sexual desire? If I must lust to masturbate then does that mean that my church was right and masturbation really is a sin?

My question is if this is true why do they not talk to their followers still. Now we have evolved more and have a better understanding of the world and universe.
Is it because they never really existed and where just the writings of past so called holy people?

First off I would like to say that I am a Chrstian, and I would like for only other christians to answer this question.

In Genisus 1:24 it states:
And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And then in Genesis 1:26 he creates man.

Genesis 2:18-19
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air.

It states that all the creatures were created before man was created, and then later states that man was created before all the creatures were created. This does not make me question my faith, but I'm just curiouse

Come up with your own definition of faith. It could be scientific or religious...doesn't matter.

Try to keep it concise. :)

Do you think someone can go to Heaven if they weren't baptized, but accepted Jesus into their heart? What if they commited suicide, baptized or not?

(Great title for something). Most of you will be aware of how windy it is today (UK). I was being blown down the street (I usually walk) before and the trees and rooves were all OK until I came to the church. Slates and chunks of bricks had crashed down, potential hurting, or even killing people.
My questions is, what kind of a God would allow this? *

“[Wisdom] is like a lamp, O king, which a man might introduce into a house in darkness. When the lamp had been brought in it would dispel the darkness, cause radiance to arise, and light to shine forth, and make the objects there plainly visible. Just so would wisdom in a man have such effects as were just now set forth.”

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Here is some evidence:

http://www.beliefnet.com/index/index_10000.html

All of theses religions are 'self-evident' to be 'true'. All of them are equally possible to be 'lies'. It's a matter of perception and opinion.

What's the motive or point of religion really?
