If the first ressurection occurs after the great tribulation, then how could their be a previous ressurection???

Revelations 20: 4-6
Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.

However if the resurrection occurs at the end of the tribulation period, the same time the two witnesses are taken up to heaven. Then it works out perfectly.

Is your first impulse to assume it is false and try to find out why, or is it to take it at face value and accept it as a contradiction if the evidence supports it?

Is 'faith' an excuse not to grow mentally and spiritually?

If you stop asking questions and just accept 'truth' in what might be a 'lie', if you have faith in something without any 'evidence' you choose to stand still in time, but honestly it is impossible not to move forward or backwards. As it is obvious in religious evolution. Religion has evolved just like everything else. Faith is just a method of slowing it down.

Why have faith in anything?

I'm not Catholic - and I really don't believe in a lot of the bible. But I'm curious to know what the Catholics based this decision on and where they think the souls were transfered - or whatever.

I was reborn in Christ due to a brief series of direct revelations, and it has changed every day of my life since. Now that a year and 1/2 has gone by, I find that it is difficult to find others willing to talk about their walk with God. When it's cautiously brought to the table, the response is cold silence. Could this revelation be of Satan - and God is muting for the protection of others?

For so long now I've studied the Bible cover to cover looking for answers. I've searched the fringes of the internet and tried to absorb any information or theory that may have even a small thread of truth. The search is exhauting, and I'm beginning to think that it may just be an unhealthy obsession.

Do other people feel they have pieces of a puzzle, and they just want to find other people with other pieces. It's as if there is a huge complex picture waiting to be revealed, but the pieces have to be brought together. Alone they mean little...

Is there a place to find others?

I feel that when we speak of our Creator and use the various names such as Lord God, Yahweh, God, Elohim, Allah etc. . . that we are really all referring to the same Loving Energy. " Him ", " Her ", Mother Earth, The One, . . . gender does'nt really matter.

My question is . . . How were each of these names ' discovered ' ? How did any particular name come to be discovered by any one person that that the discovered name was shared with others to the point where many would begin referring to the Loving Energy, The Eternal as that one name?

All religions express that " The name we refer to IS the True name " . . . How was that name discovered or revealed that it's known to be the " true " name.

I'm very compassionate and respectful of all paths of religion, faiths, spirituality, non-"believers" . . . so no judgements here.

And before your answer . . . I DO know that the message and heart of what is reflected with God, Yahweh,Loving Light, etc. is the MAIN focus and not name.

Things becoming accusatory or hateful? I see a lot of serious questions in this forum being answered in a way that I feel only causes more polarization and distrust. I am not talking about stupid questions that bate the "other side". I have decided to ignore those from now on. By the way, I am an atheist, but I like discussing religious issues.

When Catholics talk about the One True Church are they talking about only Roman Catholics or all churches that call themselves Catholic like the Eastern Catholic churches - reading a little bit about these churches reminds me of Protestant denominations

People say islam was spread by the sword.

yet they can't provide proof of it, It is true that muslims fought for islam during the prophet's time but it was always self defense. NO one forced people to convert.

But why doesn't anyone say that democracy is being spread by the sword today.

Well because we don't use swords anymore.

democracy is being spread by the gun now a days.

If you believe that islam was spread by the sword, pease show me proof.

If you can prove it than isn't it the same thing today where democracy is being spread by the SWORD (GUN)..

I've had a few but one that stands out was from a few years ago. I was walking through the San Juan mountains with my dog and my partner. At one point I stopped to tie my boot and they got ahead of me and out of sight. A hermit thrush began singing and it seemed as though time stopped for a moment and everything became totaly clear in my mind and the entire universe made sense for that instant.

Anyone else have moments like that?

scientist at harvard have been studying the realm of the quantum world and have determined through quantum mechanics it is controlled through the very act of observing " dual slit experiment " atoms act like particles instead of waves just by observing them in a conscience way, also quantum entanglement proves how everybody and everything is connected to one thing or source, this is when they started the Global Consciousness Project and proved without a doubt that the very act of being conscious can have an impact on society through either negative energy or positive energy of the consciousness as a whole

A god that would create a people and then declare that if you don't love him he will place you in some kind of hell to suffer for all eternity does not seem to be all loving. Sounds more like an ego problem to me.
