How Can I Masturbate without Sin?

I have been told by my church that masturbation is a sin and that I should not do it. However, my friend told me that masturbation is not mentioned in the bible and that the actual act of masturbation itself is not sinful, just the stuff you think about. My friend told me that masturbation as okay if I don't lust. But how is it possible to masturbate without lusting? How is it possible to masturbate without sexual desire? If I must lust to masturbate then does that mean that my church was right and masturbation really is a sin?

There's nothing wrong with masturbation. There's also nothing wrong about lust. Lust is a natural human emotion, and one of the better feeling ones, too. It's a shame that religions make people feel so guilty about feelings. Sin is an outdated concept. Instead, make up your own mind about how you interact with others in this world. The purpose of morality is to allow people to live near each other in relative peace. A hermit doesn't need morality, because he doesn't deal witth anybody. So, the idea that masturbation is bad doesn't make sense. It is something you are doing with yourself, nobody else. It is not harmful to you, unless you do it so much you get sore. Masterbating is not a sin unless you think it is. Masterbating is a normal function that everyone does occasionally. As long as you are harming no one, this is a very passive activity. By the way, that very person telling you it is a sin to masterbate.....is doing it (masterbating) also.
