To follow God means a complete 180 turn in the way you live your life, I think most everyone will agree on that.

What's stronger, the evidences you have to convince yourself the Bible isn't true, or your resistance to changing the way you live your life now?

I have just stumbled upon her preaching late at night on a small cable channel. I understand she replaced her husband Gene Scott, who I used to find refreshingly different as a tele-evangelist years ago, after he died. What do people think of Mrs. Scott?

I am a white Pagan woman, and I have a Southern accent, and I live in NYC. I swim three mornings a week. Today it was cold and my hair was still damp, so I twisted the back of my hair up and put a designer scarf over it. I don't like what hats do to my hair. I guess it looked like hijab, even though my bangs were out.

Wow. I got some really hostile stares on the bus. And a man asked, "How *could* you?" He thought I was a convert to Islam. I told him he could think what he wanted, but it's winter, and what I'm wearing on my head doesn't hurt him whether it's for religious reasons or not.

A Muslim co-worker did want to know where I got the cute scarf, though.

Now it's tying my hair back, in a ponytail, and my big bad Vera Bradley scarf won't scare anyone when I go out to lunch today, I bet.

What's the big deal? Do other women (Muslim or not) have experiences like this? Have you ever treated someone like this?

I know I'm ranting, but I want to hear your thoughts.

I am trying to write a research paper on snake handling churches and I would like to attend a service somewhere in WV. I know there is supposed to be one in Jolo, WV but I am unable to find an address or phone number. Does anyone know where this church is located and/or any other snake handling churches in the state?

Thanks.

I had to add the Bhuddist qualifier, I didn't want it to go else where.

Oh I know in the Old Testament right? Oh but I thought that was the OLD covenant! You Christians go back and forth faster than my wiper blades.

I'm asking because I've noticed a lot of questions like this towards Christians and other religions. They usually ask if they(we) feel the need to 'recruit' souls or do they (we) believe in science... things like that.

I'm just doing a NICE, NON-BIASED poll of what atheists think and I guess what brought you to this decision. If you feel 'religion' is frivolous, do you have any friends that have a faith and how do you react to it?

People let TRY to keep it nice. Let's not disrespect eachother's beliefs.

Why does every one blame Eve for the downfall of mankind? Eve was tricked into eating the forbidden fruit, whereas Adam willfully took it. ???

It rained today, and its like heaven .Everything looks pure and prestine. The trees are dancing to a silent song i long to hear. The birds are happy too i guess. I can hear them singing. I watch the raindrops fall on my window, and life seems perfect, right now right here. this is my god, this my heaven....all this beauty and peace is god...this is real for me, not a god sitting in heaven and counting my sins.......anybody else feel like this?

When we walk by a house but do not see the builders should we assume the house came to order over millions of years.

In the same way when we look at the complexity of "life" as we know it should we assume it evolved by itself because we do not "see" a creator?

Pluralism: All the semitic religions(judaism, Christianity and islam)are correct.
Monoism: only one of semitic religions can be correct?

If we accept pluralism 1 question will appear: If Judaism was correct why God sent Christianity and if Christianity was correct why God Sent ISLAM?

I Think monoism is correct and only 1 religion can be correct and shows humans the right way. And my proof is contradiction between religions. E.g: In Christianity when a baby born, he/she is guilty but in islam he/she is innocent.
Or Islam says:first Investigate about basis of your religion then choose it but in Christianity we see the opposite!
Or Christianity says Jesus(pbuh) is God. But Islam reject that!
It's very clear that only one of these can be correct. Jesus(pbuh) was a prophet(islam) or God(Christianity).he couldn't be both GOD and prophet.or a baby is guilty or innocent.

But if we accept monoism(for example islam) this doesn't mean other religions are in wrong way and unfair.

D&C 130 state certain facts. 1) savior will be a man (human).2)he will have a New name. 3) He will appear(become manifest) after American Civil war that started in South Carolina (1860). 4) Joseph smith will see the Son of man if he lived to be 85yrs old.
The son of man was already on born and living somewhere on the planet when Joseph Smith the great seer was alive . See D&C 38,45, 50:44
The above a unmistakable clues for anyone mormon with spiritual eyes to find the promise one. Search history for anyone who claim to be the return of Christ with a different name from Smith birth up to 85yrs . Mormons have been blessed with specific guidance. Joseph smith words have come to pass as prophesied. Any detective with these clues should be smiling. Declare the misery solved before starting the search if the clues are true.

It seems that many students are lacking it, more so than in the private schools. My kids go to a private school now, but will transfer to public next year (due to trying to save for college)
I am very nervous about this.
Thoughts?
