I understand the spreading the gospel thing and glorifying the god. But isn't the ultimate goal of Christianity to hurry up and die?

Isn't that why most of the cults kill themselves?

Seems a little.... well.... I don't want anything to do with it.

I previously asked a question about the 99 names of Allah and was directed to a website by a respondee:
http://www.luvu4luv.com/99names.html

It explained what would happen if you recited one of Allah's names as follows:

Al Ahad (The One) = Reccitation of this name 1000 times opens certain secrets.
Al-Awwal (The First) = Recitation of this name, 1000 times for 40 Fridays will help in getting a child.
Al-Hakeem (The Wise) = One who recites this name continuously will prevent him from the difficulties in work.
Al-Haleem (The Forbearing One) = Write this name on the piece of paper and put it where the seeds are sown, this will prevent from any disaster and calamity.
Al-Jaleel (The Sublime One) = One who writes this name on a piece of paper with musk and saffron, washes it, and drinks the water from a ceramic container made of earth, will be revered among men.
Al-Muhsi (The Recokner) = Recite this name 1000 times will have easiness on judgement day.

Ok. I have this question... I see many people answering stuff and adding the "God Loves you" "Jesus Helps" and other such phrases...
I think its ok if you believe in whatever god you believe. Some people are Christians, some are Muslims, Hindu or any other religion....
But I really dont understand what God has to do when a girl asks what to do when her father beats her, or how can Jesus help you when your girlfriend cheated on you???
I mean cmon on people... Religion is a personal choice so stop using it as panacea to anything you see...

CNN had a story yesterday about the different health care available to Sunni and Sh'ia in Iraq. If a person were to show up at a hospital, how would they know the difference between the 2 sects? Do they dress differently? Speak w/ different accents? etc.

Why do we trust Jesus' friends who met him when he was 30 on their account of his birth?

Why don't we trust his parents?

Where are their gospels?

When a human baby is born, and the placenta is ripped from the uterus, there are enough open arteries that would drain about 1pint of blood a minute into the women's uterus.

The woman would die in minutes if this continues.

However fortunate though, at the exact moment the placenta is removed, all the blood vessels crimp off their ends to cut off the supply.

I'm wondering from the evolutionists how many thousands of years it took for this crimping action to evolve? Seems to me, this is something you have to get right on the first time, as you don't get a second chance! A dead mother can't feed her baby and it would certainly die!

How come some Christians say the OT is symbolic when you quote a passage on God condoning genocide and rape, and that it's the old law that was replaced by the NT, but then they go and quote passages from Lev. saying homosexuality is wrong?
By the way, just in case people did not know, you are not supposed to ignore the OT or interpret yourself.
Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of PERSONAL INTERPRETATION, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God. (2 Peter 20-21 NAB)

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness... (2 Timothy 3:16 NAB)

I'm pretty sure that if Jesus existed, he lived till he was in his thirties. Why do people call him baby Jesus?

Examples:

"She's gone to heaven to see baby Jesus."
"Lies make baby Jesus cry."

Why is there no book by any author, let's say the magi, witnessing the birth of a baby born of a virgin?

Why no book by an author witnessing the childhood of this miraculous child?

Why are the only accounts of his miraculous prophesied birth written 30-40 years after he died? Why were they written around 60-70 or so years after his birth by his loyal followers that only knew him in adulthood?

When Gordon B. Hinkley passes on and you have a new prophet who has a new revelation from God saying that polygamy was to be practiced again, would you accept this and stay in the church or would you leave and why? Women how would you feel knowing that your husband must now pick another wife or two? Men of the church how would you feel about this?

How come the Gospels were written from different, conflicting perspectives if they were inspired by the Holy Spirit?
Shouldn't they be told from the Holy Spirit's prespective since the Holy Spirit was inside of them?
Shouldn't the Gospels have no conflicting reports if they were inspired by the Holy Spirit?
How come the other Gospels didn't record the I am's attributed to Jesus(pbuh)? John was the latest writer out of all of them.
If the Holy Spirit is God then is God responsible for telling conflicting geneologies of Jesus in Matthew 1:6-16 and in Luke 3:21-31?
