Many Americans that consider theirselves to be righteous christians believe that their material success is a sign of blessing from their Lord. Do you find this to be absurd, or is this precisely where you see your blessings coming from?

For all you people reporting this troll (actually troll is too good a word for him)...he keeps coming back every single day with the same avatar, different id. It would be best to ignore him and eventually when he gets no attention he will just die off.

Apparently Yahoo doesn't ban IP addresses.

This also goes for all the other nasty trolls. Don't feed them. Hopefully we can starve them to death.

I received an email from Mc Hummer and this is what he said about Mother Theresa

Mother F__king Teresa", as Penn Jillette calls her, spread AIDS in India by reusing needles without sterlization and cause pain and suffering in people she was falsely claimed to be "helping".

Her "hospitals" were a sham. They had no medicine or medical staff, only nuns whose job it was to tell people, "Pain means that jeebus is kissing you!" "Tell him to stop," one dying man said in response.

MF Teresa was a loathesome hypocrite. While people suffered in her "hospitals", _she_ received first class medical care in Europe. Her personality cult claimed she "raised money for the poor", when in fact, the prostitutes of Delhi raised more money to help the victims of Bhopal than MF Teresa. (Dow Chemical killed 2000, remember?) Scratch that, she raised *NO* money for them.

Considering the number of questions asked each day, I'm sure this topic has arisen several times, but for the sake of discussion...

Does free will exist among living beings? Are our actions and thoughts dictated by our biology? Are we no more free in our existence than a single celled organism? Or is there a constant self underneath our biology that lets us act freely (perhaps a soul)?

Is the fact that we have a consciousness an illusion of free will?

The reason why I ask... and I do not wish to offend you guys...

But...

The end of the world has come and gone with this particular religion on many occasions...

Many are predictions during times of War... some where during the Cuban Missile Crisis, fuel crisis in the 70's etc!

And I want to know your honest answers as to your feelings, as to these given events not transpiring?

Thank You!

Peace!

Especially when they have known you for a while and know how good of a person you are. You can almost see the smoke coming out of their head from trying to understand how a heathen can be so nice. The "TILT" light comes on over their head. Very entertaining.

The question asking how many Christians believe in evolution made me think of this, because several of the answerers said that if a Christian believes in evolution in any way, they are not real Christians.

But of course, this issue can cover disagreements in other areas as well.

them? For example, when you lobby to make a law that prohibits same sex marriage, aren't you judging them? Didn't Jesus say something about judgment in Matthew 7:1?

Ok, so I have described myself as agnostic for a while now and I noticed now that most agniostics are not searching at all -trying to find a religion.

So my question is, what would the definition be for me right now pertaining to religion?

I am currently not practicing any religion. I do believe in a higher "being(s)". I am currently searching for a religion that I find to be true.

In the bible it says to love your enemies, well if you think about, whos our #1 enemy? Satan. Does this mean, though we hate, we love him or what?

You weren't a REAL Atheist/Wiccan/Muslim. You need to stop saying that you "converted from" Atheism/Wicca/Islam because you were never a part of it in the first place. If you HAD really accepted the true way of Atheism/Wicca/Islam then you could never have turned away from it. The only reason you're a Christian now is because you couldn't wrap your mind around the TRUE and AWESOME wisdom of Atheism/Wicca/Islam.

Maybe one day you'll realize how wrong you are and you'll COME BACK to the truth of Atheism/Wicca/Islam. I'm not sure how you'll "COME BACK" since you were never really one of us in the first place, but that's just one of the mysteries of Science/Goddess/Allah.

As proof I offer the following verses from the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I'm not going to quote the verses, I'm just going to leave the reference and you can do the work of looking them up and figuring out what they mean on your own dime. On second thought, just read the whole book.

The church I attend puts so much focus on baptism. I've always believed that baptism was just a symbol of your belief in Jesus. I have been told many times that if you are not baptised, you cannot go to heaven. What really upsets me is the same people that say this to me believe in deathbed conversion (where generally, the person is too close to death to be baptised). Does this mean all those people who believe in God can't go to heaven just because they weren't baptised?

Also, my church believes that baptism as an infant does not count...

This question stems off of my last question, "Have you ever wondered why God gave him strength because he grew his hair long?" By ungodly I mean, he was commanded by God through Moses not to marry any of the Caananite women yet he married a Philistine woman even after his parents tried to sway him not to. And the rest of his acts of valor were vengence he took on the Philistines. And what about the poor foxes he tied together and lit there tails on fire to burn the Philistine's fields. I really can't rationalize God using and miraculously empowering this man who was so ungodly compared to the prophets. Any thoughts on this?

Why is it considered a big deal for Jesus to sacrifice his mortal body for us, his mortal body was going to eventually die anyway and he was going to join his father in heaven anyway for eternity so exactly where was the sacrifice.

If Jesus was never going to join his father and live forever now that would have been a sacrifice. Since this was a win win situation and there was nothing to lose where is the sacrifice?

"There will be wars and rumors of wars" (Book ofRevelations). Yet, we're aware of wars starting millineums ago. Nothing regarding wars has changed except weapons and other military equipment. But I am looking for something else. I am fearful re the United States. How far can we go with such evil? Bombing everywhere. Military everywhere. Influence everywhere. What does the bible say about a country or a people who wreak so much havoc in countries not their own.

Religions are always being created, the religions that are better at making and keeping converts survive and grow while the less "fit" religions shrink and die.

I know it wasn't just that, but also because had taken the vow of the Nazarene, but his strength did seem to stem directly from his hair because when it was cut his strength vanished. It's such a supernatural story in the midst of historical documentation of that Jewish period.

Please, if you're just going to say it's a fairy tale don't bother even answering. I would like to hear intelligent answers please.

Muslims profess to be believes of the prophets Moses, Jesus, and Mohamed but they do not, they reject them.

They deny Jesus father Allah and his power (Allah IS used in the scriptures). They say its not possible for God to have a Son yet Mohamed the messenger decreed, "If He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is (Qur’an 3:47).

The Quran like the Bible says Jesus has no human father that is why he came from GOD.

She said: My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal hath touched me? He said: So (it will be). Allah createth what He will. If He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is (Qur’an 3:47).

Muslims will say Jesus is not Allah!
This is correct. Jesus is not his father.

John 28:14 - If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

I have a friend who is in a really tough spot right now, with men and drugs. She has a son and a husband and the husband is really into drugs also. Her six year old son is right in the middle of it. Yesterday, she left and went to downtown. We live in a very large city. Her husband ran off with their son and his grandmother is very worried because he is a very bad drug addict and we cannot find my friend anywhere. Her mother is going to make a missing persons report. This entire family needs prayer. Please pray for them and please pray that my friend is safe and that we find her soon. Her name is Aubrey.
