In the bible it says to love your enemies, well if you think about, whos our #1 enemy? Satan. Does this mean, though we hate, we love him or what?

You can hate their actions, but you should remember they are the same as you.

(I love all the people who give thumbs down too)

We love the sinners, but hate the sin. Satan has no good in him. He was created as an angel of the Lord. He betrayed God. He has already been condemned. He is out of the picture. He has already been cast into hell. He seeks to find others he can hurt, detroy and kill. All people have God in them and have not yet been condemned, they still have a chance to turn from sin to God. It is all of our duty to show all people the way to God. We hate the sin but love the sinners...that is what God meant when he said love the enemies. Do not let Satan twist your thinking, that is how Satan works.

Satan gets a bad wrap, but he's actually a pretty nice guy.

The number of people that were killed by God in the Bible is about 2,038,334, which, of course, greatly underestimates God's total death toll, since it only includes those killings for which specific numbers are given. This does not include the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc., with which the good book is filled. Still, 2 million is a respectable number even for world class killers.

But how does this compare with Satan? How many did he kill in the Bible?

How about ten, and even these he shares with God, since God allowed him to do it as a part of a bet. I'm talking about the seven sons and three daughters of Job.

Killer Stats:

God - 2,038,334
Satan - 10

Yes, this does mean that you love your enemies as well. because Satan is the enemy you must love satan because God said in the bible Love is the greatest of all. Without love how can you proceed in life. Love is the most difficult feeling in the world for one to have for someone, that's why God wants us to love.

Yes, it's ok to love him (for that matter/anyone), but not to Know Who You Are.

He said "love them", but he didn't say be like them. You love & pray for them; so that they change their ways may change & be God like.

And, a note: Satan was once an angel (a very pretty angel & he thought he was better than the other angels). And, so God was tired of his ways (and I'm just giving u the short version) so eventually; he was cast into Hell. So, if God can love him so can we but we aren't to be like him. And, Satan was given a job to take those who aren't worthy of being in heaven.

Can you love something that will always bring you harm and never good? Love those enemies who can become good, humans that is, but not Satan for God's sake!

The Bible says love them that hate you. Satan does not hate us, he wants us to suffer like him, but does not hate us. No where in the Bible does it command us to love Satan, although I believe we should love all of God's creations.

Revelation 12:7-9
"There was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Ephesians 6:12
"Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm."
James 4:7-10 and 1 Peter 5:8-9
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded....Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up"...."Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith."

The #1 enemy of humankind is Selfishness, the father of Violence and Ignorance. Two many people love their selfishness, when they should shun it as the bane of civilization.

You can love someone without liking them or following them. Think of the family member you like the least (we all have one) & you will realize you love them & wish them no harm. Yes, we must love Satan too. Tough to do but we must at least try.
