bigger or smaller than Manhattan?

(All creatures have sons to keep their race, but why the creator would have a son.)

043.081 Say: "If (God) Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first to worship."

004.171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a Messenger of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His Messengers. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for God is One God: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs.

004.172 Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship God, nor do the angels, those nearest (to God): those who disdain His worship and are arrogant-- He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer).

Why do you doubt the Power of prayer to Poseidon?

Just because he doesn't always answer your prayers the way you want, doesn't mean he hasn't answered.

Sometimes Poseidon's answer to your prayers is "NO".

Since I was a child I have always believed in God, but, over the last few years I have come more and more to believe in evolution with all the scientific facts that have come to life revolving around almost everything, now I am wondering if there is room for both, does anyone else have this dilema going on, it makes me feel sad and I have mentioned it to a couple of family members and they are shocked I feel this way, if science is based on fact and religion on theory, how do we hang on to both?

An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting
into mischief, finally asked him, "How do you expect to
get into Heaven?"

The boy thought it over and said, "Well, I'll just run in and
out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St.
Peter says 'For Heaven's sake, Jimmy, come in or stay out!'"

What do you think, funny?

God Bless You

I mean, think about it. The this world we have is divided into more than THIRTY TIMES ZONES! It's literally impossible for everyone to know at once.

Another question: How would Jesus know where he would go? In these two millenia, I think its safe to say that at least half the names of roads, cities, and streets have been changed.

Most, if not all, major bible-based religions (christianity, judeism, islam) believe that their scriptures are the unerring words of God. That, in some sense, the Quran, Bible and Talmud are 100% perfect and true because they are the words of God, who is infallible. Are there scriptural references that specifically state that God is infallible. There are plenty stating that he is omniscient or omnipresent. Those don't count. Being all-seeing and all-knowing doesn't prevent one from making mistakes. Ideally, the statement would come from somebody speaking in the name of God, such as a prophet. I don't recall ever reading a passage that specifically states God's infallibility. Does it exist?

If you do not believe in god, there is no life after death for you!
If you do believe in god there is life after death for you! So why would you choose death than life "it makes no sense". Lets say
there is no proof of gods existance, but there is no evidence there
is no god.

Does it make you feel better to just believe all Christians (or members of other faiths) are just nasty and hateful? I have met several Atheists and other nonbelievers here that know that all Christians arent hateful and we have some interesting discussions either through IM or email, but some of you just wont get off the notion that we all suck. And I should remind you, that some of the things you say, make it look like Atheists are nasty and hateful too. So, why not admitt, you just dont like people of faith, regardless of their personalities? Do you think a Christian would ever change their faith because you insult them? Does it just make you feel good?

(Like I said, there's many decent folks here from all walks of life, so those of you who are hateful, know who you are)

They realized that religion is getting a bad reputation (because of them) so they tried to lie and claim they're not religious. Soo false

Religion
Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.

Catholics (who are Christians) got a bad reputation so Christians tried to claim that Catholics are not Christians. Soo false.

Christians were claiming that Atheists are fools. When us Atheists started speaking out and winning court cases, now they're crying us "they're attacking us"

I mean, if "he" has everything he could possibly want and could kill at will and recreate, what's the point?

For the people who say that "God" doesn't need us to worship him: then why do Christians say that atheists will go to hell? In other words, why would kind, loving God punish those who don't choose to believe in him?

It's filming Thursday, so it'll be on air soon. Will you Watch?

Will you be watching to see how Paganism in the US today is portrayed? Would you watch to see just what all the fuss is about?

If your religion is "against" WitchCraft or magick, will you watch to see the effect this discussion has on the audience?

Do you think they'll attempt to film a ritual or spell for the viewing audience?

I was thinking the other day that Disney should buy the rights to the characters in the Jesus story from the Catholic Church. I am sure the Church could get lots of money for the trademarks and pay off their sexual assault lawsuits. Disney could make a whole series of cartoons about Jesus and Mary and Joseph and kind of modern them up. Like make Jesus a skateboarder. They could also make like a baby Jesus and pals cartoon where jesus and all the disciples and even herod and pilot would all be kids like on muppet babies. Its all a fairytale anyway so why not make some serious cash off the character trademarks?

I was reading a Carl Sagan book last night, and it got me thinking. The Bible says that the tree in the garden was the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It can be inferred, then, that Adam and Eve had no knowledge of good nor evil before they ate the fruit. If they had no knowledge of good nor evil, how could they have known that it was wrong to eat the fruit? Were they not behaving exactly as an omniscient God intended them to be? If so, why would he be surprised and angered by their actions?
