It isn't that God NEEDS us. Why do many people desire to have children? It's a desire for a relationship that is different from any other. That is what God wants--A Relationship with us based on love for each other. He has to give us a free will to love Him or not to love Him. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a real love. Ultimately, all those who choose not to love Him will be eternally separated from Him. Why should He give to those who don't love Him the same thing He will give to those who do?

Hell is a place where God's mitigating grace is not present. So, sin and all its evil consequences converge. All good things come from God, and God just doesn't give anymore to those who have chosen to reject Him.
God is our Creator, and He provided a way to fix our relationship with Him after we broke it by our sin. How can we not worship Him in love and thanksgiving?
One small analogy might be why do parents want to have children when they have such a great relationship? Do they need children in order to be happy? Not necessarily. They just want to share their love with their own children. To raise them up right, and to enjoy them as they do what they were created to do. It's kind of that way with God. He doesn't need us. He wants us. He wants to enjoy watching us, and communing with us, to love us and have us love Him. There is nothing wrong with that. Not that I have the right to judge Him!

God doesn't need us. He wants us! That's why He created everything. To worship Him. But specifically He created humans to have a relationship with them. He gave us a choice to love Him or not love Him. I say that atheists will go to Hell because it's what the Bible teaches.
John 3:18
"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."
Romans 3:23
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."
And God has told us...
Romans 6:20
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
By "death" that verse means eternal death in hell. Seperation from God.

God is the creator of man not it's father and protector. Above all else He must be true to what He is and that is holy. He has shown in the ages past that he punishes evil. The world today is VERY evil. His plan all along was to rescue us from evil before He destroys it for a final time. He sent Jesus to die to take the judgment or our evil and give us life. All he asks of you , me , everyone is reach out and take the gift. IF you turn your back on Him what else but His wrath do you expect?... Jim

anything that is good is from God (love, hope, beauty, faith, strength)...therefor if you don't believe in God or chose to have any type of dealings with Him during your life here on earth, God will respect that and after you die, you will be in a place eternally separated from God (just the way you wanted it)...God forces himself on no one...therefor in a sense Hell is not punishment...Hell is what you asked for and thus you will be granted what you wished for...and this is separation and no remembrance of God (and you will be eternally separated from any type of goodness, hope, love, etc)

he doesnt need us to worship him, he wants a relationship with us cos he loves us all even you. Also heaven is going to be perfect so he can allow in people who will not follow his word as the perfection would then be compromised.

Lord..
:)
He does not punish people. He does not SEND people to hell. It's thier choice. God gave a gift. His name is Jesus. He died for the world's sins. He suffered EVERY PUNISHMENT that would serve justice for all of mankind, Past, present, future.
People just don't accept the gift. It's not about giving money to a church.. It's not about GOING to church. It's not about following the rules. It's about Jesus, and his salvation. All other things just come naturally.
When a person realizes this he/she can do NOTHING but worship. If you just got $40 billion (nothing compared to eternal life) from some stranger, you would probably get on your knees and kiss hit feet.
God is just. In the OT he wiped out whole nations for thier sin. They deserved it. That's why they are punished. Now, in the NT, Jesus has taken all of our punishment... that's enough to devote my entire life to.

It is written that the Lord sits in the praises of His people.
The first commandment is to love the Lord thy God with all ones heart mind soul & strength. This is the 1st commandment, so its important to God. That is one reason God created man.
I believe worshipping God is a way to love God back. I love God because He first loved me. God loves us first. He wants us to love Him back.
God is love, and when people reject or rebel against Gods love, that sin causes spiritual death / blindness. Our sin separates us from the love of God. Jesus said to see the Kingdom of God, we need to be born again, reborn spiritually. Then with spiritual rebirth, then reconciled to God the Father through faith in Jesus Christ the Lord. We can pray to Father God 24/7 whenever because of the Holy Spirit connection.
Hell was made for the devil and his messengers. The devils purpose is to destroy, slander, falsly accuse, steal, cause sickness, murder, etc.

God doesn't NEED us to worship him. We NEED to worship God. He askes us to surrender our lives to him, but we have to do it completely willingly. Worship is an act of surrendering.
When someone holds a gun at you what do you do? You raise your hands to show that you surrender. You do the same for God. Other ways is by getting on your knees almost in a begging position as to show to God that you know that you are below Him. The singing in my opinion is a way for people who don't know any other ways to show their love for God to be able to express themselves to God.
The reason us Christians worship is not only to show to God that we love him, but to humble ourselves. It's hard to be prideful when you are bowing down to God.
Oh and God doesn't punish people who don't choose to believe in him. He just lets the ones that do into his kingdom. Would you want someone in your house who goes around telling everyone your a joke? Now if you don't make it into His Kingdom there is only one other place to go.

as a child I was taught either you believe or you will fry in hell for eternity. I was always scared cause I never saw visions, heard God talking to me, and felt bad that I didnt want to spend eternity on streets of gold bowing down worshiping someone who could burn people. I hope to go to the happy hunting ground with my fido. Sounds much better to me.
