(All creatures have sons to keep their race, but why the creator would have a son.)

043.081 Say: "If (God) Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first to worship."

004.171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a Messenger of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His Messengers. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for God is One God: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs.

004.172 Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship God, nor do the angels, those nearest (to God): those who disdain His worship and are arrogant-- He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer).

"He begets not, nor was He begotten"

He has no son or father, He is a single omnipotent being. Why would God need a son or a father or anyone else anyway? We are the ones who need Him.

Why does it matter?

I'm a Christian, and I'm very unsure whether Jesus was God's son.

Even Christians who believe in the Trinity still worship the same Almighty as the omniscient and omnipotent; to Him Jesus and the Holy Spirit are still inferior. (Unfortunately, I fail to see how the Christians who believe Jesus IS God may be compatible with Islamic beliefs.)

Christians view Christ as special in that He was God's son, and in God's prodigious love, He gave up His perfect son for us. Muslims, I believe, would say Christ is special because he was a human who, against almost all odds, and like very few others (Moses, Muhammad, etc.) managed to live a perfect life--Jesus Christ the man and messenger of God. With this latter statement, perhaps God even chose him as His son, for the Gospel according to Luke even says concerning Jesus "This is my Son whom I have chosen; listen to Him." (Luke 9:35)

But, the Bible, and I believe also the Qur'an, state that all followers of the Almighty are His children. And a parent cannot CHOOSE his biological son. Could Jesus be "adopted" because he was able to rise above the challenge and provide an exemplar life in accordance to God's prescription for us to follow?

This is a huge field called Christology. There are many different beliefs, but the funny thing is, most of these different Christological interpretations do not affect the end worship. Sure, there are Christians who pray to Jesus, or who worship Jesus, but many if not most do not. Most Christians do, or at least should, place the greatest emphasis on his teachings (as do three of the four gospels). And even Muslims follow Jesus' teachings.

Alas, I don't know much about Christology, however I found the following Wikipedia article useful:

It was foretold by Isaih and other prophets that the Messiah would come. I would recommend reading Isaiah 61. The Son of God is also the Word of God. He would come down out of heaven and take the form of a man (read Isaiah 52-53) and suffer for the sins and infirmities of man. We did this by becomeing the kinsman redeemer (Ruth), something that I find is one of the most difficult concepts for those who haven't read the Bible.

What you've shown is that the Quaran is an antichrist teaching. The very thing that Jesus warned us about, as well as the Apostles. They had to deal with all the heresies about Jesus that came up, Islam wasn't one of those because it didn't even exist until much later.

Yes, God is one. But Jesus is God, the Father is God, and the Holy Spirit is God as well. Another concept that those that aren't really paying attention to what they are reading miss.

And oh how they miss!

Jesus is God incarnate: one in being with the Father.

Thus the Breakdown.

Through His Spirit (GOD) Mary became pregnant; The Spirit of God was Transformed into the form of man (Jesus Christ).

Unlike the prophets before, and if you are muslim, unlike Muhammed: Jesus had/has no human father only a mother.

God the Father and Jesus (the Son) are one in the same united through love and the Holy Spirit.

Know to your question: Why would he have a son???????????

To show how much he loved us. That He would come down from heaven, and become like his creation. That he would walk with us, live with us and die for us, and if we love him, and other, then we should do the same, without shame, without condition.

What god would love his creations some much, that he would share there existance and offer them a path to his??????????????/

If we're talking philosophically and not according to your book, it's because God is Love. Love must have a subject (the lover) and an object (the beloved). Before He created the universe, if God was not triune, there was nothing to be the beloved, therefore there is no Love. However, a triune God has Love built-in, so to speak, between the three divine persons.

If God in all His might and glory right this minute came into your room and starting talking to your with the voice of mighty waters, how would you feel? Back in the OT, the high priest used to tie a rope around their waist when they went into the Holy place to speak to God and offer sacrifices. It was so that the others could pull the priest out in case he dropped dead from being in the presence of God. So, that is why, God sent us a poor babe born in a barn, no home, no money, so we could better identify with Jesus, who is God.

Why would God have a son?

Because God is love. And what greater love is there than family? So God himself - the great God of Heaven - decided to be a family.

Rom.5:12:''Through one man[Adam] sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.'' (No matter how uprightly we may live, all of us are sinners from birth. Ps.51:5] There is no way that we can earn the right to live forever.)

Rom.6:23: ''The wages sin pays is death.''

Jehovah God sent his perfect spirit son Jesus , the one most precious to him , his only begotten Son.(1John 4:9,10) Willingly, this son left his heavenly home.(Philippians 2:7)

Jehovah God performed a miracle when he transferred the life of his Son to the womb of Mary. By means of God's holy spirit, Jesus was born as a perfect human and was not under the penalty of sin.-Luke1:35.

Recall that by sinning, Adam lost the precious possession of perfect human life. Hence, he could not pass it on to his offspring. Instead, he could pass on only sin and death, Jesus, whom the Bible calls ''the last Adam,'' had a perfect human life, and he never sinned.(1Corinthians 15:45) In a sense, Jesus stepped into Adam's place in order to save us. By sacrificing, or giving up, his perfect life in flawless obedience to God, Jesus paid the price for Adam's sin. Jesus thus brought hope to Adam's offspring-Romans 5:19; 1Corinthians15:21,22.

What the Ransom can mean for you:

The forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13,14)

A clean conscience before God.(Hebrews 9:13,14)

The hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth.(Romans 6:23)

God (Yaweh not Allah )had a son because this was his desire his son gave his l;ife (no one took it from him)in order to become a sacrifical lamb for the forgiveness of the sins of the people!

John 3 :16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

That is a non sequitur, males evolved to compete and drive gene pools forward in the plant and animal kingdoms. To quote scripture in arguments against religion makes as much sense as quoting Father Xmas re Santa.
