Going to a Christian school doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. The truth will always stand up to questions. Find out for yourself how to become a Christian. Find out what Jesus had to say about other religions. Your teachers are only human, but they mean well.

I do not believe that it is a bad think to question your religion, even at your age. I was kicked out of Sunday School at 14 for questioning stories in the Bible. At that point I started researching as many religions as I could find info on at the time. (Do it one religion at a time) I found may paths that were wonderful and finally settled into one that makes me feel like a good person and gives me reason to look for beauty in all things everywhere. Even in another whose beliefs are different from my own instead of becoming negative towards them. Your path is out there, YOU must find it. Once you find that path you must find the courage to walk it. Safe Journey, my friend.

As a Christian I am sorry to hear that, but make sure that you carefully distinguish between speaking correctly or incorrectly, the truth or a falsehood. If they are speaking badly of people who practice other religions, then they are wrong. Every true Christian - and even "Christian" schools are far from being populated by true Christians - knows that people who follow other religions are just like us, sinful and in need of a Savior. So I were to speak badly of them, I'd mostly likely have to speak worse about myself.
However, please don't fall into the popular trap of thinking that if somebody disagrees with somebody else or says he's wrong, that they are automatically speaking bad about that person. I can respect somebody's beliefs without agreeing with them. I can respect somebody as a person even while thinking that their beliefs are completely wrong.
I'd recommend you think hard about what is really happening. If you wish to talk more, please feel free to contact me directly.

Well, make the best of it and keep an open mind. It sounds like you already are. Lots of people change their religions in their lifetimes...not always for the right reasons, but consider this a learning experience, and a time to learn about different religions.

Well no matter what religion there are going to be sinners. Saying negative things about other religions in a disrespectfull way is not good, I'm glad you atleast see that. But I think you should try to find the Church where there is truth, where there is Jesus and where you can become closer to him. I am so happy that I have my Catholic faith, the Church has brought me closer to Jesus in the Eucharist. I will pray for you and may Jesus Bless you now and forever.

It's not wrong at any age to question your religion. It just shows that you are developing your mind and crave knowledge.
Investigate many religions and you will be led to do what is right for you.
Proverbs Chapter 11: 9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through KNOWLEDGE shall the just be delivered.

Derek, remember its about a relationship not religion. I have changed Churches as a pastor many times each new church has a new set of problems. You can make a difference God has been using teenagers to impact their culture all the way back to David dropping a giant in the dirt. Pray for guidance. God bless you, My friend!

There's a lot going on in your life at 15. So be careful not to change your religion due to external pressures like your friends or just to make your parents angry. Rather, start searching. Don't allow your being unsure fuel apathy- rather allow it to ignite a desire for truth and then seek truth until you find it.
God is not afraid of hard questions. I think that's cool about Him.

Dear Derek,
The same thing happened with me when i was studying at st.Patrick's high school, they were all time saying negative things about Islam and holy prophet. I started to think like you, so I consulted a Dr.Moinuddin Usmani, (may his soul rest in eternal peace). He gave books and I used go to Mosque where he prayed and started asking question, fortunately he was a good COMPARATIVE RELIGION SCHOLAR and in the end I found the truth and a revert to Islam. pl. go to www.Irf.org (Dr.Zakir Naik). you will get almost all your answers. But be patient take your time listen to both sides and you can decide at any age.
In case you are free to email me at qrsheikh@gmail.com.
Regards,
Dr.Qutub.

That depends on why you want to change.
Is it because others ridicule you for your religion, or is it because you found something else that fits your idea of what religion should be.
Don't look to change your religion unless you do it for your reasons. Let others think what they want.
Pray for guidance to choose the right path.
