Well, God really had nothing to do with it. I stopped in 1991. I realized that if I did not quit, I was going to kill myself with those awful things. It was the best decision in my entire life. What I did was everyday, I would not smoke till noon. Did it for a year. Next year waited till 5pm. Did that for about a year and never cheated either. Then 8pm. And then stopped. I kind of made up my own way. The important thing is never cheat once you have made a commitment. Cigarettes are evil.

Obviously God did not help you learn how to spell (word is "How" not "Haw"), so not sure if God could help anyone do anything harder, like quit smoking. Amazingly God helps people quit smoking, yet will not lift a finger to help some little kid who is being abused sexually or physically or both. What a jerk God is, having all that power and helping people quit smoking, but not an abused innocent child. Makes me want to believe.

Since I have been tweleve years old I have been smooking. I have not gone more than 90 mins without a ciggy I wake up to smoke and I wake up smoking. It is a gift my ciggy habit. I love them more than I did yesterday and n ot as much as I will tomorrow (sometimes I lie and tell my granddaughter thats how much I love her LOL) But my family worries about my other ilness as well. I have IBS. Its is just soo hard. My hands don't workwell either from my OTHER illness so my hubby has to come and help me while I am on the throne (cuz I am da queen). He doesn't mind. Him and my dog billy come plowing in from outside and help. My dog billy has a couple illnesses as well. He needs medicine just like me. I pay $1000 a month on meds for him. He is almost 16yrs old. My old dog chino was the alpha male even though he was the smallest. I have never gone long without a pet doggy. I just love animals. I always had them growing up as a child. My childhood was hard. My other brother would take my long, beautiful locks of hair and swing me around by my hair. And now.. I am a 64yr old woman who doesn't talk to her brother. It hurts me deeply. But not as much as my belly. Its always acts up. Speaking of acting up....... I WILL BE RIGHT BACK! (gotta take a whiz...or SOMETHING)
SOMETHING was right light a candle will ya!! YIKES I think I am possesed by some demons or something WHEW!! I had to get help from my hubby and billy this time I sure hope billy is not passed out for too long. My hubby hates giving that dog mouth to mouth but I don't mind I love billy. Anyway, I don't think smoking is all that bad. It helps you in troubled times it is always a good friend when you need one. and if they do make you sick look at all the flowers you will get when your lungs colapse.

God talked me into going to the DR and getting on Wellbutrin. ( ZYBAN) He spoke thru my wife who also was a smoker. He spoke thru my children who wanted us to stop. He spoke thru both of my dead parents who died before they were 50 one from heart disease and one from lung cancer both smoked. it worked been 4 years now have not smoked anything except my tires..LOL good luck I recommend losing 20 to 30 lbs on the Atkins before you start to stop so you dont gain too much weight

i have never smoked before though many of my friends have through prayer. we prayed constantly and held prayer sessions and groups. God is used for support and backbone and to deter temptation. i can imagine its very hard to quit. my friends had family that have passed away from smoke related diseases and it was time to kick the habit. they did within months. praise god.

I've never smoked in my life and don't plan to.
Here's my question: why would a Christian smoke in the first place if he/she feels loved by "God"?

Well. If you want to take that approach;
God created man
Man created the patch
Man created Wellbutrine (Spelling?)
Man used the patch in conjunction with said antidepressant
Man it sucked, but this man was successfull...
