In the gospel of John we see both John the Baptizer (who was Jesus ' teacher) and also Jesus holding separate baptism campaigns (John 3 v 22-24)
And also
It is clear from Jewish texts of the time that Peter and others Baptised themselves before eating vegetarian meals (yes Jesus his family, and extended family of disciples, where all vegetarians obeying the command you shall not kill anything I am who I am has made.
Does any body still keep this most beautiful tradition please?
It seems to have got rather lost in church theology.

...for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God?

If that is the case, then why are Popes(both then and now) so rich? Wouldn't that lessen their chances of going to heaven?

People, don't rationalize. Jesus, a good man as he was, was about as poor as he could be and anyone who truly believes in him should know at least that.

But what about the "televangelists" that preach on TV and earn in a single year what the average man can only earn in a lifetime?

Does "God" want people to be rich?

For those who say that "God" kist wants people to be happy, why should money have anything to do with it? I thought Jesus strongly disapproved of wealth (not just greed).

I'm not rich at all, and I'm pretty happy.

Christian morality....I dug it...until I learned reality.

Islam has shown me the harsh reality of existance. Fight...stand up and fight...or be eaten. All religion is false, and the religion which is probably the fastest growing today, is the one which is most machevallian, most intolerant, most violent. Islam.

Yea, sure, it works slower on the culture competittion level, but the direction and inertia couldnt be more obvious.

Do you think it is a sin in your religion to dress in a way that causes men to lust? I see alot of church going females dressing this way, tight clothing, cleavage, etc.

The Christians protested the world being round, the Earth's orbit...all these things having nothing to do with the Bible. Time and time again.

If world peace is supposedly the time of the anti christ why would so many fight for it? I mean, wars avoid it world unity and hate and racism help to curtail it so why are we so eager to get to world peace?

I lived in Islam country, and I know their education in the history of Islam and what it told the people their to do

I think the problem is not from the Islam its self, the problem is coming from the nature of the culture that most of the middle east people have. the Islam told him to be forgiving with the others even they made a mistake to you but they rarely smile and mostly angry for any simple mistake

I believe that, the Islam is the best religion can be compatible with the human live and mind. but it appeared in the bad area and people who didn't know how could understand the Islam exactly and how could they dealing with it because the are closed mind and know nothing in life except getting their right by fighting rather than what their prophet muhammed told them to be forgiving with the others

The big problem I saw in the live is the media like television news always negative when is talking about Islam and when I contact with muslims in the internet they are totally different

Evolution is not in the bible. Adam and Eve were not pre-monkeys. Humans according to the bible were made from dirt. Are they talking about the evolution of Adam and Eve's offspring into multicultural identities or what? In religious evolution theories, did dinosaurs exists? Are only humans evolving or do animals evolve too(Im asking that because religions are human-centric)? Is the Big-Bang theory still used? Did God create us humans first or was it micro-organisms that evolved into animals and than to us? How could people merge evolution with religion. Why do religious people start believing in the evolution theory? Is it because of the adaptation? Im asking this because of a question posted earlier about evolution/religion.

If you say I dont believe in gravity and jump out of a 30 story building-will you still get hurt?

If you says Daniel the Jewish prophet lied or somone changed the bible to say there is a literal hell, if you call Daniel and the bible lies will you still get pain if you go there? Daniel 12:2 those that die shall arise, some to everlasting aborance and some to everlasting life."

Jesus who fulfills Messianic prophecy also spoke about hell, even more than he did of the joy of heaven.

Isaiah 52:13-53:12 perfect prediction of Messiah Jesus to die for our sins and one day to come to reign upon the earth exalted. Writtend 700 bce (Before Messiah Jesus came) and had to be fulfilled for the completion of the commanded blood sacrifices for sin (Moses Leviticus 17:11)
some say Moses lied and the high priest didnt have to give the blood sacrifice for yom kippor to cover our sins-yet till 70 ce/ad it was done yearly to atone for sins as commanded-till Jesus fulfilled it

I do not want to start a flamewar, and I am not trying to be snide or point out a religious fallacy of any type. I am genuinely curious, as I have never understood the logic of sending Jesus to earth to atone for the sins of man.
Specifically, it is said that 'God so loved us, that he gave his only begotten son, to take away the sins of the world' I do not follow the logic. Why did he have to sacrifice his son? It seems like we are saying that God made people, and they were imperfect and started sinning all over the place, so he sent Jesus to earth to suffer in order to compensate for this?
Why send Jesus to be crucified: Was it guilt at having made us imperfect? Why would God have to punish his son to bring balance for the things that humans have done to each other?

Why would god create us? Is there a real purpose except he wanted people to worship him and say that he is great and powerful? Did he create me to question him? Hoping that I will just give up and accept that one being created EVERYTHING? Why are there solar systems, galaxies, and other untold things that aren't necessary if god was real? Are we just a big experiment? What's the purpose?
