Yes, I perfectly agree with you. Islam itself is a great religion, but some of its followers aren't educated properly in it so they just give the educated Muslims and Islam a terrible name. (If someone's gonna try to prove me wrong by giving me verses from the Quran, be sure to give the COMPLETE verses along with the neighboring verses, in their contexts, with explanations of how/when/why the verses were revealed. I've read some very ignorant and foolish questions on Y/A where anti-Islamic people give verses without contexts or background. Grow up, will ya?)
Anyway, yes, you're right. The media focuses a bit TOO much on those Muslims who accuse Islam of telling them to do this and that.... And plus, many Muslims mix Islamic teachings with their cultural teachings (believe me, a BIG difference!!!) Where I'm from, for instance, they call themselves Muslims, but hardly anyone truly practices Islam or is properly educated in its teachings (mainly when it comes to the treatment of women).
*Sigh* May peace and God's mercy and blessings be upon them all, and may He guide them (and us) all to His Truth. Aameen.
Peace!

I'm so sorry! This publish is so historic however made me chortle such a lot. I ought to answer to it I notion! Well all of the matters you might have indexed approximately islam is headquartered at the media reviews and what men and women of the faith are doing and they aren't ultimate examples of the faith. The prophet Muhammed (pbuh) didn't marry Aisha at 6 - get your details correct, it used to be eleven. Now the Quran makes it possible for someone to marry any individual who isn't a pubescent. The marriages at the moment have been regarded usual, occasions difference. Even round Jesus's time matters have been the equal. Haha! Get your historical past details correct! It turns out such as you transformed what in a minute? Seriously that's hilarious, a lifestyles making selection underneath a minute. Well we understand how your whole choices are made, except haters make you popular. Muhammed is likely one of the so much influential men and women who've ever lived and that record used to be made via the western society. Islam in it is instructing has miracles, details approximately technological know-how which have been written 1400 years in the past! So please! Just learn!!!!!!

I believe Islam is somewhat wronged in that most do not give it a fair chance. Here in America, we do not see the true Muslims, we only see the radicals--those claiming to be Muslim.
After September 11th, we only saw the video of the--what?--12 or so Palestinians celebrating. Our media hid from us the photos and videos of the millions of Muslims across the Middle East that mourned for the victims.
However, from what I have read of the Qur'an, Islam does have it's differences from Christianity. You can see where the extremists and militants have gathered support by misinterpreting certain ayats, but Islam does preach more violence as a means to end persecution and promote social justice than Christianity, which tells its followers to turn the other cheek to someone who has struck them, or give one's coat to the robber who has stolen his shoes.
Of course, many Christians seem to neglect the bloodshed documented in the Torah.
I think these differences and misunderstandings cause much of the ideological divide between most westerners and those in the Middle East. Add to this the differences in culture, and you begin to understand this almost bitter state.
Moreover, Christianity and Islam are both exclusive religions--each claiming a monopoly of theological truth. This just exacerbates this already fragile situation.
I think a resolution to this problem would take open mindedness on the behalf of both Christians and Muslims, and most importantly, open mindedness on the behalf of those who bias our media.
Together, a close friend of mine--a Sunni Muslim--and I have taken steps to tear down this wall between us. It's actually worth noting that once both of us were prepared to tackle this objective, we found hardly a wall and it really didn't take that much effort to take it down. We feel both of us have made huge strides in seeking compromise, however outside of our efforts, the rest of the world has not made the same effort we have.
Still, I have discussed religion with Jews and Shi'a Muslims without much trouble, and I pray that the world will someday find the compromise it so desperately needs. I pray that others will begin to reach out as many already have.

Well I believe that Christianity is the best faith. See, your biased for one. Two, I have also lived in the Middle East for a great deal of time and was engaged to an arab, who later converted out of Islam. I have read your history, the history of the cults founder and yes, the media reports facts about how you folks act and behave. Your prohet took the sword to peoples throats who would not convert during his conquest of the middle east and asia.
How can you sit there and defend these acts ? He should be brought up on charges of crimes against huminity ???!!!! Yeah your right, flying two airplanes into the World Trade Center was all the media. Seeing 300 children murdered in Beslan Russia was the media. Seeing riots and mass chaos over cartoons was the media. The Nick Berg beheading was staged too right ?? Where else do you wanna go with the media's fault ?
See buddy, the issue is your faith is back in the dark ages and the rest of the world is moving forward and the people are becoming fustraited and angry. Nothing will get done, the rest of the world will move so quickly forward while the middle east is dragging its feet, dealing with mass unemployment, over population and after the oil runs out the dictators in the ME can import sand ! Only Dubai has done it right so far to invest in themselves and they have stopped living and acting like animals.
Your culture is in a downward plunge, its self destructing.

I agree with you in the way that Islam is a great religion, some people misinterpret its teachings and blow things out of proportion, yet others make use of the same stuff to publicize against Islam. Indeed Muslims are not all the way as shown on TV or talked about on the radio, yet there are some TV and radio stations that speak good about Islam and Muslims.
Do let me know if I can answer any questions about my religion, peace to you all

Muslims are always crying about being "wronged"...and yet, almost all armed conflict worldwide is Islamic? Muslims are the worlds most intolerant people, but they want us to believe that everyone else is not being tolerant of them...
