I am nearing 21 and have only had one serious boyfriend in my life. We broke up quite awhile ago because he did not take his Christian beliefs seriously enough and our personalities weren't very compatible besides that. I know God wants me to date a Christian and that really is one of the only things I am looking for in a man, but I am struggling in finding any Christian males. I am attending college and am going into Early Childhood Education so there are not many men in my field, also, I tried to get involved with a Christian Campus House, but because I do not live on campus, it is difficult for me to attend the events. I am starting to get upset...Has anyone gone through this, if so, what did you do. Oh...please do not suggest online dating...I am just not too fond of that idea.

I'm sixteen and after watching Left Behind and going back and reading the scriptures that they talked about in the movie, I've decided that i want to put my trust and faith in God and go to heaven. And it's not just for heaven, but for many other things to. I need God for everything that i do in life. And i know that the bible containes a scriputre that says "I tell you the truth; whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemmned". But my question is how do i know for sure that i have Jesus in my heart and not just in my mind. How do i know that i have put my faith in him to grant me eternal life? And where do I even start to put my trust in God anyway?

Just imagine this: Late at night, a poor and dirty simple man comes to your house asking for shelter and tells you he is The Christ but nobody believes him. What would you do?

From the attributes of God, he is THE FIRST.
so they can't be Jesus and God .
Then God is in need of nothing, no food, no water, no anything, because he was first and anything coming after was created by God.
So in order to create, God didn't look for rocks, ciment, steel and wood to build this world, because he just said <> and it was.
when he created Adam, he said < Be > and he was.
Jesus also was created by the same way, and without father only. God said and he was born.
so Jesus was a word from God, but not God.
Can you understand that?

There are few Southern Baptists, for example, who today would openly argue that God meant for people of African descent to be enslaved to people of European descent. Yet that argument is precisely how the Southern Baptist Convention came into being. Now, a century and a half later, the doctrine seems to have changed, in spite of their notion that the bible should be interpreted literally, and therefore its meaning can't change.

If the Southern Baptists were wrong about slavery, and later about segregation, it begs the question - can we trust anybody's interpretation of the bible?

My apologies, this turned into more than just one question, but I'd appreciate your thoughts.

John 3 v22 - 24
'Ater this, Jesus and his followers went into the area of judea, where he stayed with his followers and baptised people,

John was also baptising in Aenon near Salim...

John the baptizer and Jesus where holding seperate baptisms one in the North and one in the South at the same time...

Obviously Jesus had not died yet, and it was a year to the start of his ministry.. so
It must be for jewish ritual cleansing as both Jesus and John where from jewish backgrounds. .

I dont understand why religion is such a big thing now a days. If you want to talk about a religion because you are curious or whatever so what. Why do people jump all over you, and start thrashing religions and shoving their religions down others throats? I am so tired of hearing how great it is to be Christian. Yay thats great for them, but its not what I want so why shove it to me? Why cant people all just be quiet and if you dont know the damn answer then dont write a damn thing. This is called Yahoo answers, a place to get some help with a question. Not to be discriminated. No religion is perfect that is why there is so many. GROW UP

I recently read a forum about Josh Turner’s release of his song "Me and God". Many people thought it improper for him to so publicly express his belief in God and believed it may hurt his career. Now if you are a Country music fan you know that Josh Turner's first release “Long Black Train” was also a somewhat religious song. I personally commend Mister Turner for standing up for what he believes in. I think it is terrible that people will sit back and not stand up for their own beliefs. I have a big problem with the idea that my child can not pray in school but other children are not kept from expressing their own religion in the form of their clothing or head coverings. I find that it is sad that Christians let the expression of our religion be considered so politically incorrect. I just wanted to know if anyone else feels the way I do. If so what ideas do those people have to help correct this problem in our society?
