I don't think it would have been much different. People would have stopped listening to him just like they stopped listening to Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan and Jesse Jackson.

There are two Dr. Kings: 1) The icon that stood for equal rights and did much to facilitate it, and 2) the man who had mistresses on the side and showed the same weaknesses like other men in the spotlight. Bill Clinton comes to mind. If he lived today, the man King would tarnish greatly the icon King. The media was not as revelatatory as it is now.

I believe Martin Luther King would have set the bar higher for blacks to aspire to; much more so than so than other leaders. I also believe public debate regarding race would have far less rhetoric and would be based more on the reality of the situation.

The immorality and perversion among younger generations would have been set back at least 20 years seeing as how he was a great reverend, preacher, and speaker.

My guess is that Dr King's had a greater impact as a saint and a marytr than he would have had he lived.
