I am starting to see Buddha as a prisoner like the rest of us. He escaped existance and went back to nothingness (nirvana). Is it possible to completely excape God's creation and not have to worry about existing in heaven, hell, or on earth?

Many crimes have been solved by hunch (try this in google 'hunch solves crime') just like I did on a hunch ...lol and you will see it happens. Is it not valid to say that since there is no conclusive evidense for or against a matter we shall go with a hunch?

The way christians often talk about faith, is like its a NEED, like humans would be worse of without it. Why is this so?
My kids do fine without it, I do fine without it, my wife is fine without it. People I have known have died, and I didnt require any faith to handle the situation, while a christian and now as an atheist.
So I just dont understand what the Need is?
please explain your view on this
thankyou

First, one has to decide what a Christian is. Christians cannot even agree with one another.
For Catholics: Do you really think the Pope speaks directly to God? If not, can you call yourself Catholic? Do Catholics really think that they are drinking the blood of Christ? If not, how can you be Catholic.
For Protestants: Do you really think the Bible is the word of God?

Basically, where does one draw the line between logic and faith? If I had asked these questions to Christians 400 years ago, there wouldn't be a doubt in their minds. Nowadays, people are much more educated. I just cannot comprehend how an educated and itellectual person can believe these things. If you don't believe some of these things, but still consider yourself a Christian, how can you justify that?

Christianity seems to be fixed on heaven, but Buddhism is fixed on escaping existance and going back to the unborn state. Which is better for you?

Why do people still believe in the Bible when science has already proven that all life came from single cell organisms and not Adam and Eve and God? Darwins theory is more true then Christianity or Islam.

Given how central religion has been to human culture, isn't it a bit implausible that it will disappear, or even just decline so far that it becomes irrelevant?

My faith has been diminishing ever since mid-2006. I have been confused and growing hatred in that same time period. Now, I am unsure what to believe because everyone is telling me God is not real, gods are not real, God is real, or gods are real. I believe what I want to believe, and sometimes I think my beliefs are against Christianity.

Then I think... to be a Christian means to be (literally) of Christ. If I am of Christ, why do I need to believe in earthly concepts.

Another thought is that I was much happier with a greater faith than I was with this lesser faith. The truth is NOT apparent no matter who says it is to me. You will NEVER 100% believe in something or someone.

I have a lot of doubts right now, and I am confused. I have family issues and stuff, so...

Revealed: preachers' messages of hate
Jamie Doward
Sunday January 7, 2007
The Observer

An undercover investigation has revealed disturbing evidence of Islamic extremism at a number of Britain's leading mosques and Muslim institutions, including an organisation praised by the Prime Minister.

Secret video footage reveals Muslim preachers exhorting followers to prepare for jihad, to hit girls for not wearing the hijab, and to create a 'state within a state'. Many of the preachers are linked to the Wahhabi strain of Islam practised in Saudi Arabia, which funds a number of Britain's leading Islamic institutions.

I mean, how would you justify yourself for not believing? Would you try to sneak up in heaven? Or just let it go and go straight to hell?

I'm an atheist so I would tell him I've been good in my life, and I don't think I deserve hell. If he doesn't let me in, then I would just go to hell and make some friends.

Don't give me sh*t like "a real atheist doesn't consider god's existence, not even pretending blah blah blah", please.

for example:

the kind of heaven typified in religion, like Christianity, Islam etc?
a very spiritual or eastern (buddhist) type of heaven?
worshipping and singing praise to the lord (like the popular stereotypes)?
constant bliss and unconditional love and light (like depicted in NDE's)?
the kind of heaven that best suits your personal interests (eg, if you like a sport, you spend eternity playing it in heaven?)
