My faith has been diminishing ever since mid-2006. I have been confused and growing hatred in that same time period. Now, I am unsure what to believe because everyone is telling me God is not real, gods are not real, God is real, or gods are real. I believe what I want to believe, and sometimes I think my beliefs are against Christianity.
Then I think... to be a Christian means to be (literally) of Christ. If I am of Christ, why do I need to believe in earthly concepts.
Another thought is that I was much happier with a greater faith than I was with this lesser faith. The truth is NOT apparent no matter who says it is to me. You will NEVER 100% believe in something or someone.
I have a lot of doubts right now, and I am confused. I have family issues and stuff, so...

My anger came out of no-where. I am 15 and probably surrounded with hormones... but everything seems to be blamed on the religion I have chosen. Screw my religion... I believe in what I want to believe, and I believe in a God. I don't want to be considered anything... I just want to believe in God.

About my family... it isn't family issues... my family HAS issues. I am not a part of it. My sister is an atheist, my mother a Christian, and my (not real) brother claims he isn't Christian but believes in God.

If you didn't doubt your salvation then I would doubt you are saved. If the Atheist truly didn't believe they would not be here and mostly ignore us. It is fun to make fun of Christians. I did it for years but it is not very fulfilling. You may want to draw close to GOD and tell him what is going on. He will answer you if you listen.

Sorry you're having a hard time, but the issue of your anger and hatred (for what?) is separate from that of your religious doubt. Theists seem to be constantly troubled by doubt, owing to the overwhelming evidence against God's existence. It is a struggle trying to reconcile the illogicality, contradiction and inflexibility of a faith with the evidence of your senses, and perhaps that is the source of your inner conflict. You don't find many atheists filled with anger at these particular things. It's easier in your mind to accept the simple and uncomplicated answers given by faith, provided you can insulate yourself against the evidence of the world; it is just as easy to accept that there are NO simple answers, and that this life is all we have. We must make the best of it. Whichever path you find most satisfying, I hope you find peace of mind and contentment in it.

You are on the right track... you are right to question the beliefs that you were indoctorated in to.
Christianity does not make any sense at all. It is based on myths thousands of years proir to the alleged birth of "jesus" ...
In a way, Christianity is Santa Claus for adults... once you come to the realisation that christianity and religion are nothing but evil, then you will find it quite easy to dump this stone age religion in the trash where it belongs.
Understading that you get one life here on earth (with no fairy tale afterlife) will enlighten your whole person.
All the best.

I'm an atheist, but I won't even even begin trying to convince you.
However, there are more important things in life than the "God or No God" question. Given that you just told us you have family issues, maybe better to focus on those, before even considering religious questions.
No offense, really, just friendly advice.

this is a question asked 7 months ago, by a dear friend of mine. She has had lots of help on this forum in her journey which in the end converted her from Christianity to Agnostic. I'm not saying you should do that of course, but I think the answers to that question can be a real help in what you are struggling with now.

Sometimes you just have to do what feels right. Ask yourself on the deepest level. Research what you feel to be right, and if it is intellectually right to you, follow it.
Christ beleived in Earthly concepts as a human did, as he was human. The point is, as "Of Christ," you should be seeking to emulate his kindness and teachings.
But I'm just a filthy Pagan, what would I know about love and kindness?

If you don't believe in God then you're an atheist, like it or not.
If being "of Christ" means being a good person, that's obviously an attainable goal WITHOUT believing in a deity. You can be a good person AND be an atheist.
And why would you believe in something just because it makes you happy? Isn't that self-delusion? Believing in an afterlife and a heaven would make me happy but that doesn't mean it's realistically possible.

For me it has been useful to abandon labels altogether. I do not consider myself a Christian, or an atheist, or an agnostic. The spiritual beliefs of any one individual will never fit perfectly in one neat, pre-packaged belief system. We are too complex! Instead, I accept my beliefs as they are, and don't try to reconcile them with any one 'system' of belief.

As long as you use your logical mind to solve your described problem, you will have an logical answer. With logical answers always something is missing. I think you should experiment with meditation to go to realms within yourself were it is quiet and the ongoing chatter in your brain is not so loud anymore. You don't have to believe in God and you don't have to 'not believe in God' either. You are free to believe what you want and there is nothing you could do wrong regarding this question.

You know as a Christian that God does exist. Don't let other people tell you any different. Be strong in your faith and pray about it. Get back in touch with God, because as you said, you were much happier in your faith. I'll pray for you and keep your faith!!

It's very difficult to think and be a Christian at the same time. If you enjoy critical thinking, you'll realize that most of the Christian beliefs are mere fantasy, and even self-contradictory.
I recommend a healthy dose of cynicism - it will help you immensely in life.
If you really do need religion for a crutch, I suggest Flying Spaghetti Monsterism - you get Fridays off (FSM's sabbath), you get to dress and talk like a pirate, and when you die, your heaven has a stripper factory and beer volcanoes.
