I hear many people say that there's no truth a whole lot. Now, if you say that there is no absolute truth aren't you being absolutley certain that there is no absolute truth? That would mean that being absolutley certain that there's no absolute truth would prove that there are absolute truths. So since that is an absolute truth, then can't there be others? Believing does not make something true you know. Proof does, evidence. So if you really want to find an answer to something maybe you should go and find out. Not just make an opinion, unless your opinion has credible evidence which points to truth. I just started this yahoo answers thing when a friend showed me. And most people answer without thinking. Others come here seeking truth! Stop lieing and making uneducated guesses. Include your evidence and proof in the source box or in your answer. Please, you could be ruining someone's life or worse.

Even though it states that if you are raped you are to be put to death, your father can sell you into slavery, you are property, and that if your husband dies and you have no son you are obligated to marry your brother?

Remember, the Bible is apparently the inerrant word of god... you wouldn't want to upset him by not heeding his every word.

1)"It is not an objective thing, it is entirely subjective." Statements from 'Farien3' avatar.
OR 2) Do you believe sin is in-bred and anything that violates the conscience and breaking God's moral laws written in our hearts?
3)Does anyone who claims sin doesn't exist think our civil laws should be trashed and society doesn't need the basic moral laws of God? i.e. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me, You shall not make for yourself a graven image, You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, Honour your father or mother, You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, and You shall not bear false witness. So, if you think sin isn't real, how would you feel if someone steals your car, kills your pet, takes your spouse, kills a family member, tells lies which costs your life savings; would you feel that these persons had not sinned or do you feel they deserve punishment and you deserve justice?

It doesn't make any sense to me, it's like they think it's beliving in something is, "one way(heaven) or the highway(hell)". And they truely don't know what an atheist(person who has no beliefs) is. I'm bringing this up b/c i was in a chat room(christian chat, I was bored so i figure i'll debate with pplz), and this girl said "I'm booting you, becuase you are satan's child", she didnt even let me explain. It made me kinda mad too. But yeah why do they think that?

My unlce is a priest, my grandma is a stone cold christian (and a bit of a female dog), and my mom believes. I think it's all a load of crap. I have zero ability to believe and my mom accepts that, or at least she thinks I'm confused and doesn't make me go to church. My sister brother and dad are with me but I'm the youngest so I think I'm my grandmas last chance at having one of us being an actual christian. My grandma scares me and sometimes i just want to yell because she can be so rude. WHAT DO I DO?!?!

If a father nailed his son to a post here today we'd throw him in jail. Why does God get a free pass?

ok, this is more like a moral issue I have with myself. i just can't believe - about certain people - how I could even call them a God's child. yes, I have my own faults but still...and then I find asking myself what kind of God is that anyway if I can't accept certain people, sure, I can accept them but not like them, then how can I even talk about God. ok, this is really hard to explain but it makes me wonder about God as a parent, to put it in simplistic terms. and it also makes me feel like, if I feel so far away from certain people and their way of thinking and actions, it, in a sense, makes me think I'm far away from God too since he created them that way and that bothers me.

have you ever felt this way

thanx

From what I understand about karma, it is meant to teach a lesson. From that idea, I get that once the lesson is learned, the punishment stops. What I'm wondering is, is karma like going to school? As in, when you are in an average class, you are required to do the homework and repeat it many times, regardless of weather or not you got it in the first few tries. Is that how it works?

I've learned the lesson, yet I still keep getting hit.

Or maybe the world is using it as the wiccan thing against me, returning all I've done times three?

Seems kinda like the same concept though...

What does this mean? _()_

I see it when you answer a question. Is it a Buddhist symbol? Like how some Wiccans put )O( in their answers to show the triple Goddess (waxing, full, and waning moons).
