I'm wondering if this is a solution?

thanks for the advice. As you might see, I was pretty frustrated when I wrote this and being a bit cheeky. I really am trying to find a solution that will not lose me a friend.
After reading the answers on this and my last post, I am somewhat calmer.

I read your other post and if you aren't interested in the religion, just tell them you've decided that being a JW isn't for you.

I can't believe you would seriously become one and get disassociated just so they won't witness to you.

But the answer to your question is Yes, if you become a Witness and openly criticize the religion, you would probably be excommunicated and shunned.

I don't recall Jesus advocating shunning. Paul did. And John went farther than that - shunning not only ex-believers, but ANYONE who didn't share belief in Christ, including never-been-believers.

You will probably disassociate yourself.

If you comment certain sins, or if you practice sinning, either case, without repenting, you can be disfellowshipped.

I don't know what solution you are trying to solve.

Understand disfellowshipping is not a WTBS teaching.

It is taught by Jesus, Paul, and John.

JW's do it because they are obeying their Lord Jesus.

Probably.

Not a very good idea. The end doesn't really justify the means.
