I hear many people say that there's no truth a whole lot. Now, if you say that there is no absolute truth aren't you being absolutley certain that there is no absolute truth? That would mean that being absolutley certain that there's no absolute truth would prove that there are absolute truths. So since that is an absolute truth, then can't there be others? Believing does not make something true you know. Proof does, evidence. So if you really want to find an answer to something maybe you should go and find out. Not just make an opinion, unless your opinion has credible evidence which points to truth. I just started this yahoo answers thing when a friend showed me. And most people answer without thinking. Others come here seeking truth! Stop lieing and making uneducated guesses. Include your evidence and proof in the source box or in your answer. Please, you could be ruining someone's life or worse.

There are absolute truths. Like you pointed out to say truth is relative is to make an absolute statement. Logically this doesn't work as the statement is self defeating.

If we dig into logic it isn't that hard to prove there are absolute truths.

This is a question that is individualized to the person. Some people believe algebra deals in absolutes, others say it cannot be proved. Some think, I believe what I see, therefore its real, but in a world of special effects and the ability to alter what we see, that is not longer reliable.

Basically, what is truth is what each individual believes or perceives as truth, their truth. It does not make it right or wrong either.

You are mistaken Evidence does not make a thing true. It only make a thing beyond a reasonable doubt. Evolution is proved defiantly beyond a reasonable doubt. But there are still some who have to have that final missing link. Even though they have it narrowed down to a mans rib bone. They just cant figure what could have happened to it. xx

Since I just got done wiping my hands after deficating out of my palms. I think I can answer your question:

I don't know. There are certain things that you could say is truth, for instance certain bodily functions are supposed to be absolute truth.
But it's really a matter of your perspective.

Birth and death.

God is not an absolute truth, or we wouldn't have atheists.

The universe being infinite can never really be proven, because there always might be an end.

What a load of gibberish.

Yes there are absolute truths and that is one of them. How can you even ask something so dumb. Thats like not knowing from day to day what your name was.

You need to ask yourself if there is such a thing as reality - and if you don't know - get yourself some medication.

Truth is relative, as is the nature of reality. Such concepts are tinted by the color of a being's experiences.
