From what I understand about karma, it is meant to teach a lesson. From that idea, I get that once the lesson is learned, the punishment stops. What I'm wondering is, is karma like going to school? As in, when you are in an average class, you are required to do the homework and repeat it many times, regardless of weather or not you got it in the first few tries. Is that how it works?

I've learned the lesson, yet I still keep getting hit.

Or maybe the world is using it as the wiccan thing against me, returning all I've done times three?

Seems kinda like the same concept though...

Maybe there's more of the lesson for you to learn. Maybe you need to look at it from a different angle.

Karma is cause and effect. It accrues from past bad deeds done in previous lives. You deteriorate the causes and conditions for the ripening of bad karma when you meet the results of past bad deeds with patience and a calm mind, knowing what caused them and eliminating the shenpa (charge behind the emotion) that causes you to react to it.
