I know some of you may say Jewish, but I don't really know about that, cause you would have to believe all the stuff that Jews have put into "mantra" since the birth of Jesus.

i recently wrote a question asking for people to pray for a certain individual named pkstn pride who keeps writing hateful questions against hindus

i got wonderful compassionate comments but got others saying i was wasting my time over a person like him

it is my devotion to cure a sickly fallen man. is that a waste of time?
i believe in gandhi's philosophy and i am only trying to promote love and compassion? is that wrong

if you don't think so please continue spreading this peaceful message and write a prayer for him
if not tell me why it is wrong to attempt to purge the hate from one's community...one can never know what good it will do until they try right?

My father was Jewish and even though I have never practiced the Jewish faith I have always considered myself to be Jewish. When asked my nationality I state English, Irish and Jewish. My 17 year old daughter argues that being Jewish is a religion and not a heritage. Someone please help end this argument!! Thanks!!

I recently told my friends, jokingly, that I think that I could be a Jew. But when I really started to think about it I think more and more that I could convert. So what in general do Jews believe?

So many atheists here are constantly trying to make Christians look stupid, or to convince us all that Jesus is a myth and that religion is hocus-pocus. Could this stem from unconscious urges from the id to be close to God, resulting in a conflict with the super-ego, or could some be agnostics in search of an argument that may change their minds? Just wondering.

I found this and found it very interesting, please watch the video and read this post all the way through before posting a response, and if your response doesnt deal with my original question ("Is there such a thing as "praying"?"), you will be reported. Answer maturely and truthfully, do not be a child.

Consider this startling admission by Nobel Prize winner George Wald (1906–1997):
"There are only two possible explanations as to how life arose. Spontaneous generation arising to evolution or a supernatural creative act of God. . . . There is no other possibility. Spontaneous generation was scientifically disproved 120 years ago by Louis Pasteur and others, but that just leaves us with only one other possibility. . . that life came as a supernatural act of creation by God, but I can’t accept that philosophy because I do not want to believe in God. Therefore I choose to believe in that which I know is scientifically impossible, spontaneous generation leading to evolution.5"
"If a theologian had argued this way, he would be accused of letting his religious assumptions interpret the facts. But when a scientist follows a similar methodology in defense of evolution, hardly anyone blinks a questioning eye because the declaration is made in the name of science"
