I prepare adults to become catholics, either by baptism if they are unbaptized or by profession if they are already baptized in a trinitarian format. We do not re-baptize. Normally the process is about 9 to 12 months, it could be shorter or longer, it depends on the person. It is about conversion. And yes, if course anyone who comes into the community is accepted. Call your local Catholic Church, and ask about their RCIA program. The adults who attend my meetings, come once a week, attend mass, & attend any special rites that might be held. We study the Gospel readings each week, and the teaching of the church, and the sacraments. When they are ready, if they are unbaptized, they receive Baptism Confirmation and Eucharist (the Sacraments of Initiation) at the Easter Vigil. If they are to enter the church by profession, (if they are already baptized) it can be done any time they are ready, and they will receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
Just call a Catholic Church, or go to mass get the bulletin. Christmas Mass would be nice, but you better check the times at your local church first. sometimes on special days the times get changed or added to.

Yes, absolutely. First you want to contact a parish near you. Then they can tell you when and where the classes are at that parish. You may be given a sponsor, who will be like a mentor as you learn more about RC. I think the program is called RCIA or something similar. If you already have been baptized in the Protestant denomination you will NOT be expected to be baptized again. The RC Church recognizes that baptism. I am not sure if this has changed or not but about 15 years ago the process took about a year-2years depending on your background, ie Protestant convert vs. non religious convert.

Hope this helps if you are interested in becoming part of the Catholic faith community.

Yes, if you converted to Catholicism as an adult you would be accepted in the church. So many people are leaving the Catholic church right now, me being one of them, so the Church is happy to get some members back. You have to take classes though, and you will probably have to make several sacraments. Talk to your priest about it. If for some reason the priest you talk to is not supportive, go find a different priest.

There's a number of useful posts for you here already.

If you've already been baptized in a Christian church, there's probably no need to be rebaptized.

I hope you think long and hard before making such a move. There are lots of honorable Catholics and I don't want to disrespect them but as a recovering Catholic I can tell you that the Catholic church has some major league unresolved issues. Be careful.

I did and I am accepted. It takes a while, and I still have not perfected the liturgy. The process can take anywhere from a couple weeks of study to a year, with a priest and a class or just by yourself.

Of course. I was also a Protestant (Presbyterian) before I converted to Catholicism. You will have to attend an adult, catechetical class before you can be baptized.

It would not be difficult as the Baptism will be valid. But you will have to study to receive the next sacraments, as catholic children do.
Of course anyone sincerely converted will be accepted.

My dad is a Disciple of Christ! i can undergo in suggestions asking him as a toddler what Protestant faith he replaced into by using fact i desired to bypass decrease back to college, I went to a Catholic college, and brag to my friends that my dad replaced right into a Protestant, yet while he reported "Disciple of Christ," i replaced into dissatisfied. I had in no way heard of them till now! LOL First, it relies upon. in case you're under 18 and/or nevertheless living at domicile, then i do no longer recommend completely changing. once you reside at domicile and reckoning on your mothers and fathers, you may do what they inform you. you could learn, as you have been doing that's tremendous, you could pray the Rosary, study the bible, consistent with danger bypass to a Mass, communicate with a clergyman, yet could appreciate your mothers and fathers and do as they inform you. once you grow to be an person, you could convert, yet once you're nevertheless living at domicile, it's going to be VERY puzzling for you. My brother--shake of head--is 40 9 and nevertheless living at domicile with my dad and introduced the spouse there, too. He would not understand the independence he's lacking out on via nevertheless living there. They the two attempt to regulate issues, yet it somewhat is my dad's domicile, and he's in can charge. it's going to be the comparable with you. Now, in case you're able, you may make an appointment along with your community parish priest and discover out while the subsequent classification of RCIA --ceremony of Christian Initiation for Adults. It runs for style of 9 months, meets as quickly as a week for an hour, and you learn with reference to the Catholic faith and get ready to your sacraments. you will no longer could be baptized lower back in case you have some data which you have been already. you would be ordinary into the Church on the Easter Vigil Mass--the evening till now Easter. i assume i did no longer study it appropriate. it somewhat is in no way too late to transform to Catholicism! no longer in basic terms ARE you worth, yet you're BEING spoke of as to transform.
