you seen this in your area and what are you doing the avoid being a victim?

On a second note, isn't there something in the Bible about fear of coming out of our homes in the time of the end?

I think it's a pretty decent series...even lots of my Christian friends think so!

It's a lot more original than most fantasy stories....and plus it's improved the literacy of millions of children all over the world...

What do you guys think?

Why can't we all just get along?
Christians, I know that people are going to act like total jackasses. I know we are going to be persecuted. But even so, it doesn't help us at all to be bitter and condemning to non-Christians.
Non-Christians, we ARE going to disagree with you. Most of you have read the Bible at least one time, so you already know that our way of life is probably WAY different than yours. That's OK! There are some really mean Christians out there, I know. But please, try to ignore the mean Christians just as you would want us to ignore the mean Non-Christians.
Yes,I know this has been said a thousand times. I am just saddened by the hatred that is growing between the two groups.
Yes,I know. Christians have done alot of crappy stuff in the past.
Yes,I know. Non-christians have done alot of crappy stuff in the past.
But why can't we just forget the past and try to love and understand each other?

A man walked along a California beach deep in prayer. All of a sudden, he said out loud, "Lord, grant me one wish."

Suddenly the sky clouded and in a booming voice the Lord said, "Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish." The man said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so anyone can drive over anytime they want."

The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honor and glorify Me."

The man thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand women. I want to know how they feel, what they are thinking when they give me the silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say 'nothing', and how I can make a woman truly happy."

The Lord replied, "Do you want lights on that bridge?"

Jesus said, "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock."

Thank you, Lord, for teaching us through everyday events. Thank you for being our refuge throughout life's storms. Amen.

I came upon this site about 2 weeks ago while seeking a serious answer to a serious concern. I was excited to see something like this as a resource. I asked my question & was amazed how quickly answers came in. There was only 1 answer out of many that I was able to identify as not a Christian & I thought wow, this is great!

Today has been my 1st chance to spend time looking around & I headed straight to this site as that is all I'm interested in. I was so very dismayed to discover a high volume of non-Christians responding to all of the questions & even saw a few yucky questions being asked. I found myself wondering why are all these Christian haters & Christ haters hanging out at this site? They are not interested in truth especially if it goes against what they want to believe. If I believe smoking is not bad for my lungs can I smoke without any consequences? It seems their only goal is to harrass & accuse us of doing exaclty what they are doing with tremendous hatred & anger!

Now... I don't believe in "sin" or about homosexuality being unnatural, wrong, etc.

I'm just curious. According to the Bible and whatnot... is the STATE of being homosexual a sin or the ACT of homosexuality?

... and what about bisexuality?

I am trying to find a Church that doesnt make me wanna hurl chunks. I am impressed with Emergent, but its not a Church and my wife's college is going to require her to go. My background is pentecostal, but my thinking has shifted. I want to be a Christ Follower, but I cantt handle any more pro-war, we love Bush, America is Gods Nation bullshit anymore. Are there no Churches out there that follow Christ and take a stand against the crap that is spewed forth by the religious right. I mean come on there is more to life than:

Vote Republican
Drive an SUV
Gay people
Abortion.

I am a true Christian lost in the quagmire of todays so called Churchianity

I just wanted to see, since all you people have such hatred for muslims, do you hate me? We'll the truth was i didn't want a stupid a religion, that all i saw people around me who smoked, drinked, have sex, etc. How can christianity be a religion? It's supposed to have rules and regulations which apparently nowone cares about. Plus if you christians and such think muslims are so bad you are not doing any right by criticizing them. Every religion has goods and bads, i wasn't the one who bombed the twin towers. Look how many christian idiots have killed people in the past. Look at the highest crime rates because of them. To everyone racisim is forbidden in all religions, so learn to judge before you start to hate.

what if your definition of God is too simplistic? You can define God in many ways. God can be a concious entity, or simply infinite wisdom....and when you reach this infinite wisdom...YOU become God, as anybody else can that reaches such wisdom...

Maybe heaven is a self-contained system where your concious identity becomes static...and it floats into the 'infinite wisdom'....

which would mean understanding is God.

There are many interpretations that would fit perfectly well into the bible .
