Why can't we all just get along?
Christians, I know that people are going to act like total jackasses. I know we are going to be persecuted. But even so, it doesn't help us at all to be bitter and condemning to non-Christians.
Non-Christians, we ARE going to disagree with you. Most of you have read the Bible at least one time, so you already know that our way of life is probably WAY different than yours. That's OK! There are some really mean Christians out there, I know. But please, try to ignore the mean Christians just as you would want us to ignore the mean Non-Christians.
Yes,I know this has been said a thousand times. I am just saddened by the hatred that is growing between the two groups.
Yes,I know. Christians have done alot of crappy stuff in the past.
Yes,I know. Non-christians have done alot of crappy stuff in the past.
But why can't we just forget the past and try to love and understand each other?

Hi Myaloo!
Our favorite "give peace a chance" poster has done it again :)

I'm with you all the way. Unfortunately, I think humans have persecuted each other for one reason or another since the beginning of our existence. Unfortunately, Christianity is as big as it is today because of the Church persecutions (convert or die) that took place hundreds of years ago.. yes, there have been those who have been martyred for their faith in Jesus as well.

Persecution is rampant among our kind (the human race).

Accepting those who are different from you seems to be difficult.
Fear runs rampant among the ignorant.. if we don't understand something, we fear it.. if we fear it, we destroy it (or attempt to).
the only way to overcome that fear is to educate ourselves about those we don't understand, and accept them as valid.

We'll have to agree to disagree in our beliefs and ways of life.
Then, we have to agree that all are just as valid as ours and have the right to live the way they choose as long as they aren't harming others.

When you look at it in those terms, it seems simple. But it's usually the simplest things that are the most difficult to achieve.

Blessings to you on your path, myaloo.
Hugs,
Kallan

Nice humnistic view. Come on, God told us a thousand times we would be hated by non-christians, and that it was a fact of life, farther more he told us that they WOULDN'T listen to us, that their ears would be plugged. Love and understand each other? We are completely different, we all started out as sinners, and still are, the only way we change is through the grace and love of Christ Jesus, there is no compromising that fact. Non-believers are totally different from us, and we can love them, but we cannot be with them, we cannot throw in our lot with them. God said we become like those we spend our time with. More over he said that we can love the unsaved, be we cannot try and make ourselves accepted by them. We will always be different. We and them are different, to be honest here, I am throwing all the atheists, buddists, evolutionists, everyone who isn't a christian, in to the non-christian group. How can we try and fit in with an atheist, we believe the exact oppisite of athiests, we believe in a reason for life, they don't, except for the fact that they are here to provide the next generation, and so on. Which isn't a bad thing, but it isn't the right thing. To take it one step farther I will say that doing what you are doing, trying to settle a ago old war, is very wrong. Satan has been fighting us since Adam and Eve. To step into the midst of a great battle and simply say "lets be friends." doesn't work. You wouldn't have stepped into the middle of the civil war and said, "let's forget about it and be friends." that would have kind of left the Black people in a spot don't you think? No, We cannot both be accepted. God and satan are fighting as we speak, fighting for every soul, every last one. We cannot simply step into the middle of them and say "forget it" either you are a christian, or you are not, don't draw a line in the sand a place a foot on each side. We cannot forget the past, the past is God, loving us, dying for us. He doesn't want us to forget that. The past is Jesus, the past is death, the past is our ticket to heaven. Don't forget what God died to make able. God gave us life, and I want everyone to know that, and I want to love everyone... But we can't love those who hate God. No one person can have two masters. You can love them with the love of Christ, try and show them the way. But to count yourselvs among them...no, that is something we can never do.

God bless you, and merry Christmas

People are condemned by their own sin. They don't want to be around people whose very presence makes them aware of their sin. Today it's come to the point that Christianity is being attacked as a whole whereas earlier individuals or groups of individuals were attacked because of their faith. It's well known that there is a lot of evil done in the name of Christ. He said himself that many would come in his name, saying he is the Christ, and deceive many. They deceive many by not doing what he says. In some cases they don't do what he says in order to fit into the world, because they are of the world and not of God. Christians must defend the faith once delivered even if it means being against unity.

No, I will not ignore the mean Christians (or the mean Non-Christians). That is exactly what allowed the "crappy stuff in the past" to happen in the first place.

I see people as individuals. So, if you don't say ignorant and hateful things, you're cool with me whether we agree or not.

in the start we ought to get one element immediately, theocracy is an evil kind of authorities climate that is Islamic, Jewish, or Christian. that is a dictatorship or oppressive kind of authorities with out checks or balances, no comments from human beings, and no democratic practices. 2d, there is not any such element as Islamic or Christian kind of democracy. Democracy is democracy, era! those in power favor to apply faith/way of existence or any kind of authorities to attain administration and oppress particular sectors of the inhabitants (like women human beings in Islamic international locations). Is there a conflict? definite! particular Islamic communities are indoctrinated with hate and instructed to kill Jews, Christians, or non-Muslins. the same communities do not comprehend women human beings and abuse them interior the worst actual way. They positioned a larger cost on the Quran than human existence, fantastically no matter if that is a lady existence. Then they justify it lower than non secular regulation, that's guy-made and has not some thing to do with believing in God, and say that is pleased with out wondering. there is not any Christian or Jewish run u . s ., except the Vatican and Israel, that's western. those counties are for the most section democracies embedded in parliamentary and republican forms of governments with separation of religion and state. yet some international locations were shaped on Jewish and Christian values. besides the indisputable fact that, there is replace for the more beneficial interior the Muslin international besides the indisputable fact that that is amazingly sluggish. it ought to take yet another 2 hundred years for the middle East to modify for the more beneficial. extra comments: good factor, Terry W.

You are absolutely right. But what is more saddening is the fact that all this hatred from the "mean Christians" is not Bible based.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, 45, "However, I say to YOU: Continue to love YOUR enemies and to pray for those persecuting YOU; that YOU may prove yourselves sons of YOUR Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous." Can they really be called Christians when they do the exact opposite of what Jesus said in his Sermon on the Mount?

Granted, nobody's perfect and God knows that. Psalm 103:14, "For he himself well knows the formation of us,
Remembering that we are dust." But we need to ask ourselves: Am I truly following God's Word? Am I living up to God's standards?

Jesus later stated in Matthew 28:19, 20, "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

He doesn't say there, "Priests" or "Father". Yes he was talking to the disciples, but those words he said are to be appreciated now and forever, they were made for us to follow. 1 Timothy 3:16, 17, "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

Pray to God to help you help others see how we can live peacefully and grasp His help when it comes knocking at the door.

the war between christians and the rest of the world is this: the world and everything in it has many things that are inheirtaintly evil. let me explain. 1 timothy 6:3-ff tells us that money leads to all types of evil.this is the war that christians face, the evil in the world such as robbing, killing, lying, cheating, and all other sort of evil men do to get money. so you see the war is not against man it's against the evil that men do or are subjected to . that's why we are taught to arm ourselves with the armour of god( ephesians 6:10-18)

I wish it were that easy. But some people (Christian or Non-Christian) are just entirely narrow-minded or prejudiced. And no one can fully press their beliefs upon the other, the same way you can't tell them both to just "love and understand each other." If you want to love and understand, love and understand the other, pray for them. Because that is what you can do for your brethren.

total world domination is Satan's goal. he started working on it as soon as Christ was nailed up. false prophets, and new gods were and still are his strongest soldiers. the mark of the beast will be a crescent moon, refuse allegiance to allah and be killed. gonna be rough for the ones left behind after the rapture. P.S. nukes will play a huge part in this.
