Religion & Spirituality - 19 December 2006

I am a Christian and believe very strongly so this question is not to persuade me. I was just wondering if you do not believe in God than what do you believe in and what do you live for? Do you believe in good and evil? what do you think happens when you die? It just seems sad to me that some people believe that this is all there is.

capable of complex abstract thought would that mean they had a soul?
Would that mean they needed salvation?
Would Jesus need to come back as a Dolphin, be harpooned by Japanese Fishermen and rise or in this case float from the dead as payment for the Sins of Dolphin kind?

Don’t you think that Jesus must be born some where around the world? He may exist in different country by different name, color, style, and cloths and may have using different language? Don’t you think that his Godfather would have sent him again to die for save people from their sins?

Now its one thing to believe that God had a hand in something that you have seen happen, but someone I know told me that one person at the church had his cancer cured and another had his HIV cured. Now I'm atheist, but I try to respect those with religious beliefs and even when they say something I find ridiculous I try not to talk down to them as if they were a child trying to convince me that Santa is real, but what am I supposed to say to this person without just humoring them or talking down to them? How could I possibly find a common ground?

It's a bible passage in Luke 24, where two disciples meet a stranger on their way to the village of Emmaus, and after talking about their disappointement of Jesus' death, and the stranger telling them about what was written, invite him to stay for supper, where he breaks the bread. Then they recognise him as Jesus, and they go back to Jerusalem

i dont understand what it means...i know its about a bishop having a vison of her and him picking up roses in his clothing and it reavealing a sign of her...but its strange cuz the other day i was looking up rose pictures and the lady of Guadalupe popped up...and i thought it was a beautiful picture...so i printed it up...then that night i was looking for a tv show 2 watch but nothing was on then on the catholic channel they were talking about the Lady of Guadalupe... someone please explain this? cuz its confusing me!
