and their struggle to push away the inescapable truth of God's word? I'm just curious to know if it’s working for them…

Maybe there ARE disparaging Questions from Christians about non-Christians, but I think we can all agree that the sheer volume and particularly vile nature of the anti-Christian Questions requires further inquiry. It seems to me that being anti-Christian is these people's religion, instead of deciding what they believe in, going with it, and leaving others to THEIR own beliefs. Why mock? Why say disgusting things? How tolerant is that? If they're so much better than Christians, then why not behave as such?

If they think that their Questions rock the faith of Christians, they're mistaken. Their vile "Questions" only serve to solify Christian beliefs that the Godless live lives of disdain, pessimism, and reverence of nothing except their self-interests. Empty. Devoid of wonder. Devoid of love.

These Questions make me very sad...not for me or for God, but for the Askers.

Personally I think some of these people asking have a little part of them that is really seeking (not that they'd admit it ). Otherwise why would they bother wasting their time? So it's up to us that do believe to plant a seed . . . and maybe maybe just maybe someday it will grow.

I would revise that Margaret to say that the askers of those questions are empty and devoid of wonder and love. Not all atheists are like that, nor do they all ask questions like that. Being an atheist myself, I can say that it is an embarrassment to have others like that around. Just as I am sure there are a few christian sects that are quite embarrassing to christians. The Westboro Baptist Church comes to mind. Atheists do not have the market cornered on idiots.

I haven't ever asked any disparaging questions here about Christianity.

But your question could be turned around, you know.

Do you think that disparaging questions about Islam or Hinduism or Buddhism or Wicca or atheism help the Askers with their inner turmoil in fighting their personal demons of pride and bigotry and self-satisfied smugness?

I'm just curious if it's working for them...

If they think that their Questions rock the faith (or skepticism) of non-Christians, they're mistaken. Their vile "Questions" only serve to solidify non-Christians' beliefs that they live lives of disdain, of no self-knowledge, of judgmental bigotry, and with reverence for nothing except the parts of their holy book that justify their self-interests and prejudices. Empty. Devoid of wonder. Devoid of empathy or compassion or charity.

These Questions make me very sad...not for me or for my fellow non-Christians, but for the Askers.

Why in the world would I be against a religion that, according to you, teaches its followers to believe that non-Christians "live lives of disdain, pessimism, and reverence of nothing except their self-interests. Empty. Devoid of wonder. Devoid of love."

Or against a religion that teaches its followers to be arrogant enough to proclaim, "the inescapable truth of God's word," while preaching tolerance to others?

I just can't imagine what in nogod's name I've been thinking all this time.

Good thing, though, that I'm still not against the religious as a whole... only individuals and their individual choice to use their religion as justification for arrogance, war, bigotry, condescension, ignorance, and misplaced pride.

I sometimes tend to post provoking questions about Christianity as a reply to the provoking questions posted on my religion..

Also sometimes I tend to ask such questions to help other people work out their minds and think in more logical way than to "just" believe.

Christianity for me is a big mystery and what makes it so is the type of illogical answers Christians give most of the times.

They help as much as the questions - and not even questions sometimes - belittling and deriding others just because they are not of a Christian sect.

Jesus, of all people, would have a much better sense of humor about the religion that was created in his name and doesn't even follow his teaching. He has to, since he's the ONLY reason the hand of god hasn't smacked the hell out of some of the more self-righteous, hate teaching and breeding Christians that roam the internet and our TV sets.

Think about that a bit.

...?

Just because someone doesn't believe in the same things as you do, doesn't mean that their answers are any less valid.

If your question was:

When someone, who doesn't believe in a higher power, mocks Jesus and/or the Christian faith; Is this beneficial to the CHRISTIAN?

Answer:
Not everyone is Christian.
Sure, it won't help the CHRISTIAN with answers that are satirical but then again, the answerer isn't trying to answer the christian question with a christian answer. The answer is (I can only speak for myself) usually pointing out the obvious flaws of the bible and a higher power... Sometimes I do mock Jesus and other ridiculous religious (propaganda)... But then again, Christians tend to mock atheists for not 'accepting Christ into their hearts..'
Blah blah blah.

It's a two-way street buddy.
If you're only going to walk one way,
you're gonna get trampled.

I doubt that the goal is to "mock" Christianity, Jesus, God, the Bible or any other religion. The goal may be to "mock", "annoy" and "irritate" the arrogant, annoying and self-righteous ones who insult and condemn anyone to hell who does not beleive as they believe.

Perhaps you should quit taking their questions so personally and just respond honestly without being so defensive or just shooting them down with the claim they are going to hell and have no hope. How dare anyone tell someone else they are going to hell and that there is no hope for them because they do not beleive as you do! You are not God, nor do you understand the true message Jesus gave. Shame on you!

I wonder the same about Xians. Does it make them feel better about themselves to go to a question aimed at Atheists and say hateful and condescending things like : "Their higher power is Satan. They do his bidding yet he has blinded them to even his own presence." and "they think they are in charge of everything ...they have turned there back on the higher power i feel sorry for them...." and "their struggle to push away the inescapable truth of God's word?" (Which is ridiculously pompous)

I mean, first off, no one was asking Xians. The questions are usually directed specifically at Atheists and Agnostics. And secondly, why not say something useful instead of something stupid? Or better yet, if you have nothing to say, don't go out of your way to find ways to insult people that you clearly don't understand.

It would probably make them feel better if they thought it was breaking down your faith any. No matter, let them rant on. They are fulfilling living prophecy: In the last days mockers will come.

I haven't seen any questions 'mocking' Christians. But the amount of times I've seen atheists being mocked...try believing in your thing and I'll believe in mine.

In addition to your further point, I don't think atheists think we're higher than you. We just choose not to believe. And your representation of atheists is appaling. I have seen far more disparaging questions from Christians than from atheists, and your question only adds to the increasing dislike that atheists like myself have to the minority of bigotry Christians like you.
