Satan may have his faults... but at least he's no mass murderer!

If I was in school and I prayed, let's say over my food, or was seen reading my Bible, would you be offended?
I can see how you'd be mad if I prayed right in your face (i.e touching you) but is there a problem with praying or reading my Bible?
The Bible TELLS us to pray all the time. So, schools saying I CAN'T pray is going against my beliefs.
That's one of the reason's I'm homeschooled.

Before Judas humans had to make blood sacrafices to God, or God would have them killed, and tortured for eternity because they didn't worship Him enough.

Then God decided to have His only Son killed and tortured so now all we need to do is believe that it really happened.

Without Judas, this change in rules could never have happened.

Looking for a table or mantle decoration that looks like a cross made out of stone blocks and has the "policeman's serenity prayer" inscribed on it. Saw it in a catalog and can't find it now.

How many of you go just because you've always gone?

I'm just wondering. Maybe I lost the faith. I went to a catholic elementary school and a highschool run by jesuits. My father is a deacon, and my aunt has been a nun for over 50 years. I just feel like it got shoved down my throat, and I just stopped going to mass. I think I can still be devout without going to mass every Sunday. I look at it this way. When you go to someone's house, and you don't really want to be there, they can tell. So, God will know for damn sure that I don't want to be at HIS house if I don't want to.

Communism as practiced in the Soviet Union and in China admittedly held that there is no God. However, there are Socialists throughout the world that are also Christian or belong to other faiths.

The attrocities committed by Stalin and Mao are related to their communist ideology, not their atheism. In the same way, the attrocities committed by Hitler and Mussolini were unrelated to their Christianity, but instead to their fascist ideologies.

However, could you say the attrocities of the Spanish Inquisition and the Crusades are unrelated to Christianity? Could you say that the tragedy of 9/11 is unrelated to radical Islam?

Doesn't it make sense to blame the ideology when ideology is responsible, and then to blame the brand of faith when the faith is responsible?

Before the flood the world was full of people but they were so wicked and rebellious. That he wiped them all out.
Then in Sodom and Gamorrah how many young women and babies survived ? None.
So when the end of this world comes why would it be any different?
Luke asked if those being saved were few and Jesus said Yes.
Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life and few are the ones following it. So very few will be saved again.
1 Corthians 7:14 says that even the children who does not have one parent that is a Christian cannot be saved. So our childrens lives are once again in our own hands. someone is not just automatically saved>? Or how do you take this to mean?
Will all the children without parents be saved? That doesn't make any sense either? The wars they had the children were killed.
Wouldn't they just grow up to be like their parents?

Here is mine; I love it because it rings a note of hope; faith brought people through wars before, and we will make it through this one too.
I heard the bells on Christmas day their old familiar carols play, and wild and sweet the words repeat of 'Peace on earth, good will to men.'
I thought how, as the day had come, the belfries of all Christendom had rolled along the unbroken song of 'Peace on earth, good will to men.'
And in despair I bowed my head "There is no peace on earth," I said, "For hate is strong and mocks the song of 'Peace on earth, good will to men.' "
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: "God is not dead, nor doth He sleep; the wrong shall fail, the right prevail, with 'Peace on earth, good will to men.' "
Till ringing, singing on its way, the world revolved from night to day, A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, of 'Peace on earth, good will to men.'

With all the ranting and preaching from all sides that goes on in this forum, I wonder if it actually has any effect or if it is just people who want to hear themselves talk.

Has anyone actually changed their faith or religious beliefs based on what you have read here? What changed your mind?

I'm not trying to disparage your religion but I am wondering if Catholics honestly, truly believe that unbaptised babies and children do not go to heaven. This is the main reason I left the church, and since discovered my true beliefs. Do you truly believe all doctrines, especially this one?

Muslim's worship Allah
Jews and Christians worship God or Yahweh.
Allah seems to be violent
and Yahweh seems to be peaceful.
Are they the same or different?
I'm not a bigot or anything, I'm just asking.

Jesus was a practising Jew, who told his disciples they should stick to the laws of Moses. It is Paul that later came and said the people should abandon the law in order to attract the gentiles. This is depsite the fact that Jesus said not a 'jot' should be removed from the law.

In the Bible the disciples want Paul dead. He is the corrupter of Jesus's message. He had to flee the Holy Land and go to Rome to preach his nonsense. Due to the power of the Roman Empire it was Pauls version of Jesus's message that remains today.

Jesus warned of people that will come, speak in his name, and lead many astray, I say that Paul is the biggest example of this, what say you?
