I said something beautiful about Atheism, and in fact, I didn’t even mention Christianity, but so many Christians took it as a personal attack on them. Is this not a persecution complex that some have? Why can some people not accept love in all forms?

It's a little funny, of all the hateful things to be offended by, that's what some people chose.

I have said before, those who see hate in others are in fact, seething with it themselves.

My son is in cubscouts and one of the requirements is to find out what his religious symbol is. He is trying to earn his religious emblem of faith patch to wear on his uniform.

That we all will walk a mile in each others shoes before this life is over.....I don't mind sharing and doing for others but when it comes to me asking for help I'd rather do w/out I'm just prideful like that, but lately I've needed help and just can't ask do you think that God is unpleased with my prideful attitude and is trying to break me down?

1. God is imaginary, he is just one of many gods humans have invented.

2. God, the Bible character, is a very bad example of human decency and shouldn't be followed. (see OT atrocities)

3. Science now gives us answers to our big HOWS and WHYS that are based on evidence, so science is a much better choice to base beliefs on.

I see these three branches as the main reasons to give up Christianity. Can you help polish them, argue against them, or tell me to go to hell again? Thanks!

To atheists, God is a character in a book....a character that billions of people actually believe is real and devote their very lives to. So, even if the character is fake, there are real consequences. Doesn't that make it okay to call God out on murdering all the humans and animals and unborn babies on earth in a flood (except Noah's boat), and calling for the murder of babies in their sleep, and allowing Satan to torture Job and kill Job's family for no reason?

I just asked this, and almost all the religious people called me a liar. Kinda funny. I'm not American, but it seems I have to provide you with information about your constitutions.

Well, here it is:
http://www.godlessgeeks.com/LINKS/StateConstitutions.htm

or here:
http://www.secularhumanism.org/library/fi/flynn_20_1.htm

Few examples for those too lazy to click on the links:

Arkansas's Constitution, Article XIX, sec. :
"No person who denies the being of a God shall hold any office in the civil departement of this state."

Tennessee's Constitution, Article IX sec.2
"No atheist shall hold a civil office"

Same laws exist in Maryland, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas.

So, I ask again: With having freedom of religion, how can in several US States an Atheist not be allowed a job in politics??

If you do that instead of demonstrateing in the streets and killing nuns. Here you just get violations. But before you violate me.
WoW! violate me? anyway, just wanted everyone to know why my questions are not on here. I made one of them mad.
Why can;t you be like my friend Jacko and just say mean things?
That is the question, why can't you just say I don't like that?
Why do you have to prevent anyone from saying anything?
That's violateing my right to free speak, right?

God does a bunch of nasty things in the Bible. In American society we hold people to a higher standard of behavior than we hold God. Is that because he's just too scary to those who believe?

There is such anger about the war from muslims, but the only war going on there now and for ages is the war between muslims. Are they wanting to divert attention from this fact? it was only Saddam and his repression and torture of the shi'ites that prevented this from happening before.

Without a law by which to establish what action is good and evil how can anyone be called wicked, evil or sinful?

Keep in mind Romans7:7 I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."

Wouldn't everyone prior to the law have been oblivious to what was good or evil since there was no guideline for what they were do to?

Sex is a Sacred expression created by God/dess. Unfortunately puritanical, Victorian attitudes against it still prevail throughout the world. I realize Christians are not the only ones who feel this way but their opinions are most prevalent in USA, here. And other questions what are things are considered bad/evil related to this? Human odors as well? These things are not evil either but we are being socialized to thing that way are we not? Other things?

Read what I wrote above.

That's right: The US is one of the most Christian of the developed nations. Yet it has the highest dysfunction defined by such indicators of poor societal health as homicide, suicide, low life expectancy, STD infection, abortion, early pregnancy, and high childhood mortality (under five-years old).

Again, read the top line and follow the link to see the study.
