I think that that is likely in the future.
The polarization between Christians and anti-Christians is getting worse all the time.
It is becoming routine for activist judges to let people off who assault Christians and pro-lifers, and levy Christians and pro-lifers with trumped up charges.
People are going to start realizing that the courts no longer respect justice, but are collaborators against the just.
So it may come down to the fact that the only way to defend oneself is to take up arms outside the law, because the law has become corrupted and no longer protects the innocent.
The law has been doing a number on the unborn for over 30 years now.
As St. Thomas Aquinas says, an unjust law is no law at all, but is a form of violence.
No one is obliged to obey an unjust law.

"History" isn't a thing or being, so "History likes to repeat itself" makes no sense. Similar kinds of things have happened over and over again, but that doesn't imply a critter named history DOING anything.
Since the dominant religion in the US is Christianity, it seems unlikely to fall out the way you suggest -- and it's unlikely that all non-Christians would be on the same side, as that's a pretty varied group.
As are Christians themselves. Most are reasonable and not warlike -- it's just a few that hate everyone and feel they need to control everyone.
So, no, I don't think it's a good theory. It isn't carefully thought out, and doesn't fit the facts.
A civil war would more likely come from the government becoming a dictatorship -- but I don't think that would necessarily lead to civil war of any magnitude.

Before there is a civil war, there will be a revolution. This country is not splitting between religions but is being led to believe we are split between Political parties. Its all a Farsi. Even the most diligent religions in America are looking the other way when it comes to the evolved/new age society we live in. Quality of living is where the difference will be felt and extremes will begin to take place. It is obvious that history is repeating itself, but religion isn't the separating point again.....yet. For now the rich continue to get richer, Middle class become lower class, and the poor stay poor....Thank inflation, outsourcing, and the great judgment of our ignorantly arrogant government for that

Yah, I think its just ridiculous.
You should read the laws set by FEMA.
If civil war breaks out, the president would declare a state of national emergency. Which would include Marshall Law.
FEMA laws state that once a state of national emergency is declared, all Americans are to be rounded up, divided by sex and age and put into work camps. Basically, concentration camps.
There are also no laws or rules or procedures stating the next phase of operations when the state of emergency is downgraded or removed. In other words, it isn't downgraded or removed.
So we're stuck in or concentration camps. Look up the laws of FEMA. Its all there, black and white.
America will never have another civil war. The government has set in place laws to make sure of that.
But that war your talking about between christians and non-christians is going to be global and it will be called Armageddon.

I think it is a good theory, possibly.
It has been already said, "The Christian Fundamentalists are expected to be the most die hard group."
I'm not sure who said it, I know they were a very important group. I presume they mean, diehard in thinking when it comes to globalization.
People don't seem to realize Christians are often a very well meaning and well intentioned group.
The differences always seem more important to people in general, and they are so small considering we are all on a positive path, those who are, that is.
And we need everyone that we can get.
Instead it will probably be divide and conquer if we are not careful.

You make a really good point. However, I follow a very interesting quote and that is "If we always do what we did, we will always get what we got". The U.S. has promised changes for centuries now, but the only thing that has changed..is the time. There are a lot of religions out there, but I think we have to worry more about the largest group of minorities that are now on the rise in America-Latinos.

I don't think so--the american way of life has sissified everybody way too much. The first civil war was fought by men who were already practically soldiers, they had the same resources and skills. Today we have cable and conscientious objectors--all those willing to fight already are overseas

there would not be any civil war in America. wish for a world where the words war and hate do not exist in the dictionary and people irrespective of their caste, creed, class, religion become one that is called in Sanskrit VASUDHIKA KUTUMBAM. wipe out the negative thoughts of war from your mind.
