Question in particular geared towards Christians. Cannot use fall of man (i.e. man brings evil/suffering into world) argument since dinosaurs precede man.

Archbishop Ussher claimed the world was created in 4004 BC using geneologies in the Bible. This puts the Earth's age at 6010 years. Why can we see stars that are more than 7000 light years away if their light hasn't had enough time to get here yet?

Typically you say this to atheists. (Not ALL of you mind you.)

Atheists are NOT threatened by that "You're going to Hell!" thing because it does NOT exist to us!

The human body is nothing but a set of chemical reactions. When a human being dies, the chemical reactions stop. We don't go anywhere after we die. We "go" where we were before we were born (well... before we were created in our mother's womb): Nowhere.

There is no "soul". There is no "Heaven". There is no "Hell". There is no "judgement day" to us. Not at all! So quit telling us that you KNOW we'll be begging for mercy when we are dying and will start to pray about our "sins" and junk. We are not like you in that we don't believe this stuff.

Do you sincerely enjoy telling others (e.g., atheists) that they're going to a place called Hell after death and will be tortured FOR ETERNITY by fire?! Do you know how sociopathic that sounds? Atheists are humans! We are not monsters deserving eternal punishment by YOUR standards.

What does religon have to do with anything?? One shall not judge because of what others beleive in. Im a Christian and have freinds of all different religons. I even have friends that don't believe in God. I beleive that there is a truth behind all different religions. Youu may not agree with me but this is my opionion. No one should be judged for there skin color, hair color, religon, and or there opinions, WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

Liberal and progressive Christian groups say a new computer game in which players must either convert or kill non-Christians is the wrong gift to give this holiday season and that Wal-Mart, a major video game retailer, should yank it off its shelves.

The Campaign to Defend the Constitution and the Christian Alliance for Progress, two online political groups, plan to demand today that Wal-Mart dump Left Behind: Eternal Forces, a PC game inspired by a series of Christian novels that are hugely popular, especially with teens.

so whatcha think? WWJP? what would Jesus play? Christians? is this a game you'd give your teen in honor of Jesus' birthday?

Mainstream Christians have repudiated the escapist ideas of the Rapture and Jesus taking U-turns before the tribulation and His Second Coming.
Now you have a gory video game that pretends to be "Christian". Does the whole Left Behind thing sound eerily like Ahmadinejad's create chaos theory ? And we know who these man-made theologies really benefit, as they are playing out today.

Hundreds of years before Jesus, there was a passion story told about a God man, born of a virgin mother, in a stable. He travels about with his followers, preaching and performing miracles, including turning water into wine. Eventually, he incurs the wrath of the religious authorities, who are appalled that he refers to himself as the son of god. He allows himself to be arrested and tried for blasphemy- a willing self-sacrifice. He is found guilty and executed, only to rise from the grave three days later, where the women weeping at his tomb do not recognize him until he assumes his divine form. This god, also one of the first depicted crucified, is the vine-God Dionysus.

Please, if you can, avoid citing Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell and the Bible itself. I am thinking more along the lines of C.S. Lewis, Alister McGrath, etc. Thanks!

1) Atheists are NEVER going to be intimidated by the comment, "someday you are going to have to face god."

2) Atheists do not believe Jesus was the son of god, or that he is EVER coming back. (no matter how many people say he is.)

3) Atheists consider themselves incredibly fortunate to have thrown off the mantle of religion, so they don't see the idea of finding God or Jesus terribly attractive.

4) Plenty of atheists have read the bible, some have studied it intensively (even more than you), and this is one of the reasons they BECAME atheists.

Ergo,

5) Atheists do not consider quoted scripture to be a convincing argument.

6) Atheism is NOT a religion, or a disbelief of religion, it's a lack of belief in a supernatural god.

7) Not all atheists believe in evolution, the big bang, absolute mortality, etc. Although most SCIENTISTS believe in these things, not all atheists are scientists.

I state these things without prejudice or passion. They are simple facts.

It almost looks like every God from the past stopped doing what He did, at the exact same moment we discovered He didn't actually do it.

Is that all a coincidence, or does God know exactly when we discover all those things and then He thinks "Oh, finally, one less task in my daily schedule!" ??

Please, if you can, try to avoid citing anything by Richard Dawkins or Sam Harris. They have plenty attention right now. I am interested in good atheological arguments, like those by George Smith, Michael Martin, J. L. Mackie, etc. Thanks!
