No, it's not evil, dark, but not evil. If music suggest you do something and you do it, you're the weak-minded tool who did it. I know Evanescence is not metal, but that's what I'm listening to right now, and Amy Lee is singing about how she longs to be dead like her sister, but that doesn't make me want to kill myself. I still don't understand how they blamed Marilyn Manson for the Columbine shooting when the problem was clearly the kids and their environment. People just use music as an excuse for the crap they don't want to take responsibility for.

the style isn't major. the issue is maximum persons associate the rock musical genres, somewhat heavy-metal with some thing anti-christian mostly. The Scriptures are sparkling so a techniques as musical expression. 3 issues come to ideas. a million. music is a ministry and absolutely everyone taking section in music interior the call of Christ is to be a born back believer and gifted with techniques from God for the area. 2. The music is to be performed skillfully. 3. If it offends absolutely everyone that is to be prevented. this suggests an target market it truly is receptive to a particular style desires to be placed. So without remedy of the lyric difficulty, there is not some thing opposite to the note of God with utilising any style you want to apply. although, no matter if that is a ministry, the lyrics ought to have the motive of edifying the church ultimately, only as with another ministry. You dad's position isn't no matter if he's incorrect or accurate, yet somewhat a remember of non-public decision. As reported above, he's one in each and every of those who associate the metal style with an anti-christian ministry, and by no skill without good reason. that is a vexation to his spirit so he's not incorrect in not being supportive. there is not some thing "intrinsically" evil about the metal style on my own, yet when the music causes one to stumble interior the religion, then that is evil for that human being.

It's loud. It's fast. It's electric and has drums. I don't think these are evil. Why woud Christians think differently?

My only guess is you are aiming this a rural America. I know from history books that in 1800's America, movies and alcohol where considered evil. So were all leisure activities. Hard, honest work was the only way to tame the prarie, and they kept at you night and day to be good at all costs. John Smith type colony stuff.

Oh, now the bands you speak of, you'll want to check the lyrics out. You know, you could have a group that is heavy metal that is trying to reach out to kids not to fall into drugs, think for themselves, stay in school, and still be head bangers...

I am Christian and I don't think any one type of music is evil, I think it depend on the message in the lyrics. If the lyrics are evil then that song is. For a Christian everything is permissable but not everything is beneficial. So as for music with tasteless lyrics, I wish no one would listen to it because "garbage in (the brain), garbage out (in words and actions)."

I was taught growing up that any music that has a hard beat is the devils tool for distraction and implanting evil into heads of the unsuspecting. I went to a Chirtsinan camp that taught that even country was bad! They were Southern Baptists.......CRAZY...but they certianly believed that metal was evil!

I'm a pretty devout Christian and I'll admit that I don't think heavy metal music is evil but if the lyrics tell you to do something evil then you shouldn't be listening to it.

Be careful what you put into your spirit; it always has a way of working itself out in your life.

I think most of them this it is evil... once when I was a kid my parents made me take a trip to Oklahoma City with this Youth group... they would not allow us to listen to "secular" music the whole trip and the preacher prided him self in not reading a non christian book since collage... they thought anything not about god was from the devil *rolls eyes*

it's a little too , how do I put it, intense for me, but do I think it's evil, no, the screaming and devil-like theme is a little creepy. I've listened to some of it and it's alright. Evil, no, there's worse things out there.

I'd hoped that nonsense died out in the Eighties. Are there really people who still believe that?

What about Gangsta Rap? Or Christian Rock? Or Christian Metal? Talk about evil...
