Typically you say this to atheists. (Not ALL of you mind you.)

Atheists are NOT threatened by that "You're going to Hell!" thing because it does NOT exist to us!

The human body is nothing but a set of chemical reactions. When a human being dies, the chemical reactions stop. We don't go anywhere after we die. We "go" where we were before we were born (well... before we were created in our mother's womb): Nowhere.

There is no "soul". There is no "Heaven". There is no "Hell". There is no "judgement day" to us. Not at all! So quit telling us that you KNOW we'll be begging for mercy when we are dying and will start to pray about our "sins" and junk. We are not like you in that we don't believe this stuff.

Do you sincerely enjoy telling others (e.g., atheists) that they're going to a place called Hell after death and will be tortured FOR ETERNITY by fire?! Do you know how sociopathic that sounds? Atheists are humans! We are not monsters deserving eternal punishment by YOUR standards.

The ones who are on their way to hell themselves like to remind others, if only in a vague sense of hoping to get brownie points to keep them out of it themselves. No mainstream Christian will tell you that if you are a good person, just because you are from another religion. That's not how hell works, because hell is a place for those who reject God. More difficult to attain heaven for a non-Christian but God gives grace through Jesus Christ.

I'm not really religious, but I was born into a religious family. I am Agnostic.

Personally, I feel most christians are very self-righteous and are very far removed from what it means to be a true christian. It seems to me they constantly judge and condemn others. I believe the bible is horribly outdated for our current times. Most of the bible seems to be word of man, not of god. Is a true christian supposed to be full of hate and tell you that if you are homosexual, you will burn in hell? I don't think so.

I believe in evolution, but I also have spritual beliefs. Personally, I do believe in a soul, i'm not nessarily sure if there is an 'afterlife' or not -- but as all Agnostics believe, there is no true way to actually tell.

I have morals that are not nessarily based on christian standards, simply the standard of being a good person.

i locate position of foundation protection's answer to be an unloving reaction. for sure, i did not study the unique question both. There are all forms of persons. you ought to profess faith in Christ and nonetheless be propose regrettably. Christianity calls believers to love, yet it truly is not any longer continuously the reaction you'll receive. Christians have loose will for reliable or for evil because without selection we may all only be the brainwashed automatons I oftentimes see us characterised as on those forums.

The Christians you talked to are clearly not Christians in the truest since. They cannot pass judgment; they have no control over the afterlife; they are not God. I'm Christian, and I've never told someone that they will be cast into the fiery pits of Hell for all eternity because we don't share the same beliefs. You're entitled to your beliefs just like I am. I have discussed the concept of Heaven and Hell with those who do not believe in a supreme being (namely scientist/"educated" people), and just like we think its weird that they don't believe; they find it weird that we do. I don't hate them for their beliefs and they don't hate me...well at least I hope they don't. The people who told you that are clearly bigots who think that by trying to force their religion on someone will make them convert. If you attack my beliefs, I will defend them, but I won't tell you you're going to Hell. According to MY beliefs it's God who does the judging.

Unfortunately since we live in America, we pile on Christians for excerting their beliefs. However, if you lived in the middle east, the same could be said of Muslims, they will condemn you to hell for not being a believer....It is unfortunate that Christ's philosophy to love thy neighbor, accept your neighbor in your home and help those less fortunate than you, has been tainted. Organized religion has done more harm than good in spreading the true teachings of Christ. Christ taught love and understanding. He protected prostitutes and liars. Today, organized religion teaches exclusion instead INclusion..i would suggest you all read the new testamant, read the Qu'ran, read the old testament. Christians, Muslims, jews...worship god on your own, love EVERYONE and stop judging. All the holy books teach you that its not your place to judge....i do believe that there is a higher power. A positive energy that is unique in all of us...and yes, it leaves our body when we die...some call it your spirit, your ghost, your energy. Whatever name it is, we should chanel it to do good, not to fight amonst ourselves.....and by the way, there is no HELL!

NO WAY!!! I believe what I believe and respect your right as a human being to express your beliefs. I NEVER want anyone to go to hell. Perhaps some overzealous brothers and sisters in Christ gave you that impression. For that, I am deeply sorry. But, some people just don't know how to converse with people who have different belief systems. My BEST friend called me the other day and told me she isn't going to church anymore and she's not sure she believes in this God thing anymore. I didn't tell her she was going to hell. I invited her over for coffee and sat in the sunlight this morning with her. I let her know I loved her no matter WHAT. Jesus walked in love. Love was His entire motivation. I seek to model that example here on earth.

I'm a Christian, no I find no pleasure in hell for anyone. Neither does God, that is why He made a way of escape - faith in His Son. I apologize for so called Christians who act unloving, its wrong! God in His love for us paid the price so we don't have to. Christians are to rejoice, not when someone is lost, but when they're found.

MT 18:12 "What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.

do you enjoy insisting that theres no soul or afterlife?

do you REALLY think theres any signifigant difference between an atheist saying "Theres no soul, or afterlife, all that is imagined, superstitious nonsense!" and a christian saying "if you don't give your life to jesus you'll burn in eternal torment forever and ever!"

seriously. its the same thing, just a (slightly) different color.

the fact is that the mere existance of a soul, and afterlife, are definitionally ENTIRELY BEYOND THE SCOPE of shat science can even speculate on.

they "know" that there is a soul and afterlife with just as much, if not more confidence than you belive there is NOT.

in fact it makes more sense to belive in it,than to belive AGAINST it. why? you can't observe that something like that does NOT exist. you can merely observe that you can't observe that it IS there.
at least within the beliver's own mind, they can in fact, observe that it DOES exist.

Have you ever read the bible? Who are you telling that your not going to hell?? Christians? Look I don't want you to go to hell either man. That does not change what God has said in the bible. If you stand in the middle of the highway and tell me you don't believe in auto mobiles thats not going to stop you from being hit. Who are you to say what is or is not. Are you a God?
Do some research, Don't you think it is interesting that there have been people like you and worse who have actually spent their lives trying to abolish the bible and the belief of Jesus Christ crucified. And here we are 2000 yrs later. and your still trying.

I disagree if a TRUE Christian should threatened you in that way. What I believe, because I'm a Christian, frankly, Christians are full of words of encouragement, which like the kind of expression that helps someone want to be a Christian or a better Christian.
We just want to help you to feel that TRUE LIFE to believe in, and all the choices are yours, since we never push people to believe in what we believe, never we scare them too.
I feel sorry for those who make you so disappointed.
