Everytime someone close to me has passed, they visit me in my dreams. They never talk to me , but through telepathy. I know it's real, but I just want to hear other stories. Please, if you don't have anything nice to say just move along to the next question.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse... If God really, really was all good and forgiving... why send four aging cowboys to end the world, why not just appear (it would have to be on the White House Lawn.... of course - like in all old Sci-Fi movies) and with one wave of his hand like in creation, change us all to be believers and 'good' people?

I'm not against the ignorant people asking questions, but arguing vehemently and often rudely, when they know nothing about religion, is a little stupid.

And I'm an atheist.

If God said thou shalt not kill, why would he condone the killing of His son? Did Jesus really die for our sins or do people want someone else to be at fault for their actions?

Are you aware of the small differences between the Big 3,(Islam, Christianity, Jewish) They all believe in Adam & Eve, They just differ when you pick the son of God, Muslims believe it was Muhammed, Christians believe it was Jesus, and the Jews think he just hasn't come yet. Since all three are based on the same exact story, when you think about it, arent the big 3 religions more like different factions of the same gang. Gangs recruit, fight for turf, have similar structure and rules, unite to fight common enemies, use they gang to get themselves rich, use the gang appartatus to manipulate others to do their bidding, Does not religion remind you of a street gang? And before anyone leans on their "Jesuscrutch" too hard remember all the people killed in the name of God before you start yelling about morals and who has it right. Think of the relationship between governments and religion, They called it the dark ages for a reason. But anywho "Why cant we all just get along"?

NT? I've heard from several different people who go to church every Sunday that the only real purpose of the OT is to tell a brief history of the world and the events leading up to and prophesying Christ's birth and life.
I think there's a lot to be learned from the OT. It doesn't deminish my need to read and understand (or try to understand) the words of Christ, but there are valuable lessons taught in the OT - especially if you get into the reasons why things were done the way they were, the social norms of the time.
I'm LDS (Mormon) now, but growing up I never heard a sermon preached from the OT. It seemed to me that the preacher was leaving out a whole Testement. It seems that if the vast majority of Christians believe this, about the OT, then there's no point (for them) to even carry a full Bible - all they need is the NT portion.

I'm not trying to start something, but I would like to know your thoughts.

given to understand that angels were a completely different order of beings than people. Can someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

I received an e-mail from a creationist telling me that MICROevolution has been observed but not MACROevolution.

Of course, both of those are creationist terms, not scientific terms.

Would some bright creationist tell me what natural mechanism STOPS evolution at the species level? Since populations DO change, what prevents speciation?

Thanks in advance.

I just asked this question, but everyone who responded apparently thought I was serious. Let me try again.

I have an absurd idea which, while it is patently incorrect by every measurable standard, I claim is my religion. I am therefore demanding equal time in public education, so that my crazy ideas will be put in the same context as the correct answer that everyone with an IQ above 31 can agree on.

This is exactly the same argument that is being used by advocates of Creation Science and Intelligent Design. They are using "Freedom of Religion" to get their mythology taught in science class alongside the products of repeatable experiments that are accepted by 99.99% of all biologists, geologists, cosmologists, and astrophysicsts in the world.

So if you're going to make my kids learn your superstitions as science, then I think your kids should learn about my insane conjectures as mathematics.

In a biblical geneology ook I have adam, eve, seth, enos etc living to 900 years old. Did they record this wrong as to say 900 months? 900 months equals 75 years of age. Or did at the begining people lived very old than faded as belief changed?

What are your thoughts and beliefs of life after death? Tell me what you think will happen when you die, what will you see, what will you feel, and what you think you will do in the afterlife. Will you go up to heaven or be sent to Hell? What do you think the afterlife is all about.

Like I can ask a genuine sincere question that sticks within the guidelines of the yahoo guidelines and I'll get an abundance of thumbs down, simply because my view disagrees with their article of faith. Is this justified, or just an immature way to evade confrontation?

Why do people think they have to prove everything using science? Have people lost touch with spirtuality or do they think they're more powerful than God? Is it really possible to explain God's Creation using science and where does spirituality come in?
