Humans are created from Clay. Angels on the other hand are created from light. they are two completely different creations of Allah.
when a human dies he/she moves from this world to yhe other, and depending on how good or bad he/she has been in this life, they will be held accountable for every single thing and they will be rewarded accordingly on the day of judgement by Allah.

Angels are completely different beings. The idea of humans becoming angels when they die is just part of the screwed up mess that religion has played in Christianity over the years. Angels don't understand what it means to be a human because they don't have a soul and don't understand what God's fascination with us is. They try to understand, but they never will because they don't have a "free will" like us. They were created to tend to God.

There is another side to this.
When Peter was freed from prison, the people were so surprised, they thought they were being visited by his "angel".
Throughout the new testament, the word angel is used to describe a "messenger", and it is times interpreted to be human, and at times, angelic (the "angels" of the seven churches).
And in one mysterious phrase, Jesus told His followers that children's "angels" continue to look on the face of the father in heaven...almost as if their spiritual sides were co-existent and present in heaven, pure and still unblemished by the world.
(I know some will say that these are guardian angels, but this is an interpretation, too, and not necessarily the best in context.)

You are correct. Angels are a completely separate creation from man or souls. The souls of the dead do not morph into angels.
I believe this misconception stems from the belief that the souls of the dead live on in the same heavenly realm as the angels. Over time, a few words were forgotten.

If you are a Christian and you die, you go to Heaven. Once in Heaven, you will have a physical body with no imperfections. However, you do not turn into an angel. Angels are another "class" so to speak. There is God, and then the angels, and then us.
On the other side, there also Satan and his demon, but they would fall into the category of angels.

I think people say this as a means of comforting themselves or others. My own belief is like what you've stated - they are beings of a different order, created by God, and humans do not become angels.

No, when we die we do not become angels. Angels are different than us, they were created before we were created by God. When we go to heaven we are just us, only in spirit form.

I know I hear this often but it is only sentimentality, Angels and Human beings are too different species and one cannot become the other.

Its just a metaphor for instilling comfort in our emotions.
Think of it this way, your dad dies tomorrow.
Your in shock, cry uncontrollably;talk to your preacher.
You ask him in tears where did my dad go?
He will try to comfort you by saying they are angels now watching over you.
Its just a saying to try and comfort the people who lost someone.
After all, according to bible doctrine after you die you see Jesus for a brief moment, then you go into a state of (sleep) until Jesus resurrects you on judgment day.
After all,how can Jesus let you into heaven before you are judged.
People get confused about this.
With the zillion of denominations out there, variations in the death process are not uncommon.
I just gave you a condensed view, too many details to get into.
God Bless

People say lots of silly things. That doesn't make them true. Angels are a different class of creature entirely. We cannot become them, and they cannot become us.
